Joe, my prayers and deep sympathy for you both. The other half of a perfect pair in distress is heart wrenching. But Cynthia is pulling out of this valley. Godspeed for her, and you.
Just read about this Joe and am sorry to here about the accident. It's good to read that Cynthia is heading in the right direction. Our family will be sending thoughts and prayers your way for you both. God's speed in her recovery!!!!
Yesterday they started to reduce the sedation but Cynthia started thrashing around quite a bit so they stopped. The pulmonary doctor said that she would be on the ventilator for a couple more days. I'm going to talk to her neurosurgeon this morning and ask about her blackout issues that she is having about a week before the fall. It's like she is falling asleep and almost instantly wakes up. Cynthia has had some issues with her ears lately and I have been putting ear drops in them. That could be the problem with her blackout issues. In the meantime she is taking a long nap. I will give you another update later in the evening. Joe
Could she be experiencing Narcolepsy? https://www.webmd.com/sleep-disorders/guide/narcolepsy#1 Hoping she is out of this soon and back home, Sumner
More thoughts and prayers for Cynthia, and for you Joe. Stay strong and positive for the both of you.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers!!! Cynthia is doing the same, they will try again to remove the ventilator tomorrow. This is day 5 of her hospital stay. There are a lot of people praying for her and I know she will pull out of this because she's a very strong willed person. Joe
Day 6 Cynthia has a bit of a setback, she had to have the oxygen turned up to 75%. I'm afraid she might get pneumonia if things don't improve. Needless to say she is going to be on the ventilator for awhile. Joe
I know it's hard Joe but thanks for keeping us updated. Praying for Cynthia and we are here for you if you need to talk.
Thank you Fan.! A friend of mine came by this evening and we talked about Cynthia and also talked about everything besides medical stuff. It felt good to have a good friend like Nick. He is my best friend in Oklahoma. Joe
Joe, we are your friends too though online is a bit different than in person. I know it's very difficult especially during the holiday season but please know we are here for you. I know we are all far away but if there is anything we can do for you, someone to talk to, let us know. I will be the first one to PM you my cell phone.I Speedy recovery to Cynthia!
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. I'm doing okay with all of this, I have a lot of friends nearby and online. Can't say thank you enough about how much support everyone has given Cynthia and I. Joe
Day 7. Cynthia is doing a little better, her oxygen is 60% and the goal is 40% or less. She is not thrashing around and is resting peacefully. Joe
Day 8. Cynthia is doing about the same, her oxygen is 50% and they switched one of the pain meds to another that is not as strong. Joe
