South Fork to Del Norte CO

    Check this out.
    San Luis Rio Grande Railroad
As far as I know, they only run to Monte Vista, but it looks like they own the line to South Fork.
The location of the photo is probably not in service.

great pictures. i especially like the one chip car (loved those old SD9s). the volume of traffic in canon city is not as much, but we do get two or three runs through town on a daily basis (not including the Royal Gorge passenger excursion trains). Rock and Rail has been hauling some decent sized trains of aggregate and boulder from the parkdale location, with empties returning most mornings around 4a.m. lately they have used two leased UP GE 44s and about 20 car trains.

my favorite is the thursday (generally) canon turn with coal for the public service plant. still see Rio Grande engines on the point (patched, but still with big Rio Grande logo), mixed with a UP and/or patched SP loco in the consist. in that train i still see several Grande hoppers and a couple that are not even tagged.

canon city is still a good town for trains, that is ... compared to some places.
