Yeah, SD40-2's! OK, this has to be the single most-recognizable locomotive from the 70's and 80's that's still on the rails. In my humble opinion, a favorite; in many railroaders' opinions, dependable. In modelers' opinions, cannot get enough of them for the roster. So, let's see your shots of these 'Deuces! To start us off, the first Swoosh BNSF painted 'Deuce I saw, this one in Cheyenne last fall:
I caught this CP unit a couple years ago. It sat on a siding in Salem, Oregon for a few days. A rare sight anymore!

BNSF 6854 On the point at the Arizona Divide, Sept 2004. You can see that same Santa Fe 6336 farther back. This consist was turned and went back by me in the other direction in less than 20 minutes!
dueces are still fairly common around here, at least for now, still see them quite regularly on the CSX,CN, and the UP, and to a lesser extent the NS. Not counting all of the leasers on the CSX you still see here. Guess I should consider myself lucky as these and the '45s are my favs. Have too many pics of them to pick out a favorite to post(other than the one Hemi has already posted) Have a few pics of all deuce lashups even that have been taking in just the last few years Progress, hell, BRING BACK THE DUECES!!!!!
