No problem. It was fun tracking down a spot to get those shots. When I get more with the other camera (the zoom on the other camera should be much much better) I'll post those too. It would be great if CSRM could get those inside and cleaned up/repaired enough to either display, or maybe get one of them back working and operate it. Now I've got to go watch my "Sacramento Steam '99" video for a steam loco fix!
Hey my 500th post! Anyway great news regarding the CSRM and possible the restoration of the Northerns. The developer of the old SP Shops has agreed to give the main shop buildings to the State parks for development of a Rail Technology museum. Where did they go? I was looking for the Northern's the other day again from I-5, and it looks like they've been moved. I couldn't figure out where they would have gone, but then yesterday I think I spotted them parked over near Hwy 50. Anybody know if CSRM has moved their stuff away from the old shops building and why?
I know there have been some zoning changes around the old SP shops in Sacramento recently and they have been moving stuff around, so that could be an explanation. As a result of those zoning changes, Yreka Western is receiving 9 passenger cars they had stored in the yard. 2 of them, SP Harrimans, are in the Yreka yards right now.
I'll have to make a trip down to where I think I saw the Northern's this week and see if I can get closer pictures than I did last time and see if anything else good is stored in the area.
