Is the Exactrail Trinity Reefer still coming or did they give up after Craig
    introduced his.

Could find no mention of the N scale one on the Exactrail web site.

Since that announcement is dated Friday August 6, 2010

Where's the car? Their HO Trinity reefer has sold out.

Is the N Scale Trinity reefer vaporware since there's been no updated information for the past year?

After exchanging several e-mails with ExactRail I've all but written ER off as far as releasing new N Scale.

Looks like the only N-scale activity for ExactRail in 2011 was the new Evans 5277 50' box car back in March and new paint schemes for the PS-2CD 4427 covered hoppers in June. This info taken from the Brooklyn Locomotive Works announcements history pages. Not much but definitely not zero either. As for the reefers.... Jamie

Call me biased*... but I hope they gave up. The ER HO car is a hodgepodge of Trinity Lots, and neither 'phase' ER did actually matches a known prototype.

BLMA will release plenty more reefers... just stay tuned...

I'd hold out for more BLMA cars... they were first to market with a spectacular product.

I really am rooting for Exactrail to do more stuff. I like all the Exactrail cars I've bought - including the gondolas, boxcars and hoppers. Unlike BLMA, who's chosen near "home runs" with every single product release and delivered fantastic models, Exactrail has picked some slightly odd cars. The CP gons are wonderful - and for CP modellers, I bet there is a need for dozens. But it's a stretch for many others. I'd hate to have them say "the MP/UP/SP gons did great in HO - but the CP gons didn't do as well in N, so HO is a better market to pursue".

You never know if this is the thought process or not, but I get the feeling they need to listen to the N-scale Community to see what they want. I don't think we wanted or needed TWO sets of Trincool Reefers, BTW...

    :)

    Group,

We are quite enthusiastic about N-scale! And since becoming Vice President of Product, our commitments to the N-scale community have only deepened. We are currently developing a new set of innovations for our N-scale models, and all of our products are being updated accordingly. Given the scope of this project, it has taken some time to execute--naturally. But, I believe that the results will be well worth it.

By the way, ExactRail's Trinity 64' TRINCool Reefer is soon to be announced. We look forward to updating you with a complete announcement shortly.

    Best regards,

    Blaine Hadfield

Rumor has it that all future Exact Rail cars will have body mounted micro trains couplers. That would be a huge step forward!

Blaine, slightly off topic, but any chance of seeing the Gunderson 7466 cu. ft. Wood Chip Gondola in N? BN had a similar car, not sure its exactly the same or not.

Also, great to see MT couplers on the new stuff.

edit: And how about some of these Magor 4750 Covered Hopper

Looking at the car differences between HO and N, its almost a 2 to 1 ratio of car types. Just checked the facebook page, no new N scale announcements since June 16...

Heard that too, or read, wanna say it was on facebook.

Does that mean the paint will never look like this again?

Thanks for popping in here Blaine. Since you're listening, I'll put in a vote for your HO waffle-side box car to be released in N. I'd also love to see you produce a TBOX 60' hi-cube to complement your very nice FBOX 50' car.

I know the proposed Trinity reefers and at least another model will have body-mounts for sure. That's been my only complaint about ExactRail products...You can only be so "Exact" with truck-mounted couplers! :)

I belive it when I see it, so far is been a trickle compare to the flood that HO gets.

Blaine,Its good that you are making replies but, with all due respect Sir, I'm still waiting on those "exciting N Scale announcements" that I received in a e-mail back in 2010.Here it is October and nothing showing for N Scale while your HO list continues to grow to include a second run of your HO Trinity reefers and of course that brass irrigation wheel..

    Where's those "exciting N Scale announcements" ?

As I mention in several of my e-mails I like your products but, find it very discouraging to see nothing new from your company other then new HO and in that light I've all but written your company off as far as new N Scale..

I feel pretty much the same - it's the same thing Atlas has been feeding us for the past two years: LOOK at all the neat new stuff we have for you - and it doesn't appear. In the meantime, Fox Valley and BLMA are making hay.

Before going too hard on ExactRail, I think we need to take a look at the NEW N-scale releases they have introduced since 2009:

    2009
    PS-2CD 4000 Covered Hopper
    Gunderson 5200 Box Car
    PC&F Hy-Cube 6033 Box Car
    Trinity 5161 Covered Hopper
    ??? Gunderson 2420 Gondola
    Vert-A-Pac Automobile Car

    2010
    Thrall 3564 Gondola
    Trinity 50’ Hy-Cube Box Car
    CP Rail 65’ Gondola
    Metal Wheels

    2011
    Evans 5277 Box Car
    PS-2CD 4427 Covered Hopper

Remember, these guys weren't even around before 2009. What gives with all the hard feelings? Personally, I own a few varieties of ExactRail cars and find them to be of very high quality and excellent detail. If they are only going to have a trickle, I'll take the trickle!

Jamie,Maybe you didn't notice the sharp drop in N scale products between 2009 and 2011?

    2009-6

    2010-3 plus metal wheels.

    2011-2

Did you note the increase in HO products over the same time frame?

Yet ER keeps telling us: "We are quite enthusiastic about N-scale! And since becoming Vice President of Product, our commitments to the N-scale community have only deepened."

Yet the evidence shows just the opposite.

6,3,2 shows a decline and not a increase.
    --------------------
Now if the opposite was true and we seen a increase in N Scale models then I think none of us would be complaining but, again the evidence shows a decline-not even a second run of previous release cars while they sing their happy, happy song of being "being enthusiastic about N Scale and how their commitments to the N-scale community have only deepened" while releasing new HO cars hand over fist along with a 72' plate girder bridge and of course that brass irrigation wheel while decreasing N Scale releases..

If they made the waffle boxcar in N I would buy several Southern,NS and the shortlines they did in HO.

I would be a very happy camper and sing songs of praise.
