Perhaps a home road paint job Jon? got any SHC decals?[/QUOTE] I like the idea. I already have plans to do 2 freelance roads - The 'Norfolk and Goode RR' and the Suffolk and Watt RR', so SHC will just have to take a back seat for now
Thanks Jon! But DARK and orange is good too! I was just watching your video...nice work!! What Part of the UK do you hail from? I used to live in RAF Lakenhaeth, and Thetford.
Ah, a southerner. I hail from the North East - Sunderland to be precise - the birthplace of steam railways. Talk about having history on your doorstep. Jon
Jon: I'm a yank. I was in England with the US Air Force. I did get the chance to ride behind the Flying Scotsman while I was at Alconbury/Peterburough though. I admire the fact that you Brits have a lot more historical steam then we do. Paul
Hi Paul - I guessed Lakenheath - 48th Fighter Wing by any chance? I thought the Americans left Thetford in 1946 Jon
We lived there while working at the 48th Fighter Wing. Now I'm retired from the Air Force, and I work part time as a conductor for the Heber Valley Railroad, here in Utah. I've met serveral Brits, Germans and a few Ausis while working up there. Amazing how people like a nice steam train no matter where they live! Paul
I finished the model tonight, fitting the handrails, shade for the light, and adding a bit of weathering. I ended up using the original handrails for the pilot and they'll do for now until I can pick up some better ones. I still have to get a FM soundchip before I consider it finished and ready for action. Jon
As usual, great pictures, Jon! And great work with this switcher.:thumbs_up::thumbs_up::thumbs_up: I'm waiting for the video, with sound. Wolfgang
