    Hi, all,

Here are two recent pics from my little Santa Fe 'Peavine Line' (previously posted on Atlas SNFF):

    ========

It's 1956 on Tehachapi Pass, and ATSF Geep #726 leads a lashup of Zebra Stripe
GP7s as they pass a set of Southern Pacific helpers in the siding at Woodford:

From another angle, the GP9/GP7 lashup is passing under the
California Highway 58 bridge near Woodford as they head downhill towards
Bakersfield. The Tehachapi Loop is about 3 miles behind them:

The MicroScale decal cab numbers (60-1161, formerly 60-247-1) are slightly too
big to allow a proper set of four numbers to fit in the (1996) #48032 Atlas GP7
Zebra Stripe unnumbered space. There is enough space for 3 numbers, so
I picked a valid ATSF GP9 number for that era and used it, even though the shell
    is clearly a GP7.

Nice pics John. Oh that those locomotives were passing Woodford last time I was there! I am not keen on the zebra stripe Santa Fe units, but I love the SP black widow scheme [IMG]

Here is a shot i took at a local rail exhibition, it is of a rail motor that used to operate here in NSW.

Actually I think it is one of the most realistic shots I have taken.

I guess I can/should add a few of my own favorites! I got a few different ones (its to hard to pick just ONE!)...

This first picture, is of my shops pride, (the real loco is my shops namesake) on the hill, doing what it does best! Its walking up a pretty good grade, (No thats not a camera trick).... My B&O EM-1 "Yellowstone" #7600, with a 40+ car train, on a 1.5 percent grade, unassisted!

The next picture, is of my Western Maryland M-2 "Challenger" #1201, with a fast freight passing the local depot.... Going down grade with a solid 32 car unit train, of nothing but hopper cars.

Heres the same engine an train, (Western Maryland M-2 "Challenger" #1201, hitting a turnout heading for the downgrade....

And then My B&O EL-5 #7165, pulling the train that gave my shop its name in the work I do.. The B&O MOW train, (In this picture this train is about 28 cars long, but is alot heavier then the factory made coal cars seen!) It too, is unassisted, in pulling this train, at a "walking" speed to be prototypical running, Its walking up the same grade as the EM-1 is on the first picture.

The next picture, is of the same loco, going around the bend heading down grade on the #2 mainline, which is the inside rail....

The next picture is of the B&O EL-5 #7165 from above, only in a "dawn" shot of the day. Just barely lighted outside.... Thought this was a specular picture! This was taken at the top of the hill! After the loco had crossed the summit of the hill.....

The next picture is a dead at night shot, you'll have too look really close to see the loco itself, but the headlight shows up really well! In this picture, its currently at the bottom of the 1.5 percent grade, heading for the climb! In the dead of night!

  8. Well, many of my fellow Atlas forum mates have seen my stuff, but this is my first post on Trainboard.

While the VARR layout is still in my heard, the VARR DOES have some equipment.

This pic shows VARR High cube boxes and coal hoppers:

And this shows the VARR motive power so far, a pair of Atlas SD35's:

    Welcome aboard!
Great shots! Are these the ones of brush-painted rolling stock? Are the SD35's brushed, or spray painted?

Welcome to Trainboard, VA [IMG] Good looking locomotives and stock, love the logo!

What kind of layout is "in your head", do you have a trackplan or operations in mind?

Thanks Mitch I'm pretty keen to have these two locos done in MOPAC, we might even look at a different scheme? you will have to show me some examples. Maybe it will be an idea to open a new topic like we did last time, What do you think?

    Hi Folks,

I'm also new here, and these images have been seen on the Atlas forum, a few shoits from my rather smallish N scale East and West Overshoe Line stuffed into the furnace room.

A view on the Western approach to the East Overshoe yard:

    Another along the main:

Thanks for looking and great site!

This is a favorite of mine because it shows the bashed N scale 0-6-0, CPR boxcar, Canadian Stock car, long prairie grass, and the enclosed water tank
    [IMG]

And this one because of the depth of field and the best darn factory paint job I have ever seen on an N scale Diesel thanks to LL Canada

My layout is still under constuction and doesn't hold a candle to other picts posted, but I like this shot and thought I'd contribute in my own little way.

Well all have to start somewhere so it is great to see youpost a pic of your layout. I recall my layout being at that stage some years ago actually here is are a couple of before and after shots.

This section of the layout was the first stage, I have since extended the layout and will one day expand further if I ever get the time.
