Well, it had to happen someday.........I have given up my liking of the Frisco, since it's been gone for over 30 years and this featherweight railroad has been swallowed up by a larger, more interesting line. Yep, I'm going green- Cascade Green, that is. Let's face it- Burlington Northern stretched from Florida to Washington. It handled coal, commuters and corn. From heavy-duty Class 1 main lines to weedy granger branches, from SD70MACs to old GP9s, BN had it all. And, since I've lived in BN's service area most of my life (I was actually born in CB&Q country), and since it's easier to paint model diesels (not as much taping), I've decided to renouce my Frisco fealty and swear allegiance to the Jolly Green Giant. As to you dismayed Friscophiles- get over it. BN RULES!
Interesting.... Very interesting..... Frisco management may have had mountains, but they were mere molehills compared to the Rockies and Cascades in MT and WA. I don't feel that knew quite how to handle that, and it shouldn't have been handled the same as the old SLSF system mountain districts.

Bob. After thinking this over a while, I find that this is truly very disturbing news. It has forced me to reevaluate my choices of railroad modeling. I have come to the conclusion that I am getting out of trains altogether and going into RC Monster Trucks. I will be selling off all my collection soon. Stay tuned.
Seems like a big decision made on the eve of April Fool's... Mind you, i am the constant skeptic of anything said within the 24 hours previous to 12:00 noon on April 1st. If its for real though, I vote for IveBeenMergedBob for the name change!
