A conversion to UP would have resulted in an act of Congress and next year we'd have skipped from March 31st, straight to April 2nd.... Sloof Lirpa
Although I must admit, I lived for quite a few years in Saratoga, WY in the 1960s on the UP's Encampment Branch, and would watch the switcher (usually an RSC2) switch cars out in the large lumberyard complex they had before heading back north to Walcott Jct. and the mainline west to Rawlins. In steam days, they would use a Ten-Wheeler (such as 1242, which is on display in Cheyenne), and would even pick up cattle at the pens at Meads and Walcott, plus make the rare run south to Encampment (also for cattle). A far, far cry from the days of the Borg. THAT part of the UP would be a nice one to model- I even picked up a P1K RSC2 and a Centralia Car Shops UP CA4 caboose, which I still have.
Just remember that Sage's name if Charlie decided to bypass your caboose and go straight for the "markers". Speaking of Frisocphiles. I still remember the world-ending prohecies when a well-known and loved PRR N scale HCD layout was updated to Conrail. There's a reason we call Pennsy Fans Rabid...
Well, if you really must convert to the "Big Nothing", then just send that HO Frisco power down here so I can use it in interchange service in Van Buren. I've been eying a way to expand my layout to include Ft Smith with MP and SLSF and the Arkansas River crossing. Now, how bad do you want to model BN?
Who said you can't have both. Heck, I'd go ahead and run Frisco, keeping it for rainy days while I purchase BN equipment. I'd like to smack the guy that said you can't do both. Wake up buster this ain't no way to talk to a friend of mine. COL Whatever you do...YOU WILL HAVE FUN!
Eh, we're just razzin' him. Cause that's what Friends do. (With Firends like these, who needs enemies) But... If somehow someone no longer needed a few coaches, I know of a naked racehorse that needs something to pull...
Hmm.......wonder if it's too late to say APRIL FOOL! :tb-biggrin::tb-biggrin::tb-biggrin::tb-biggrin:
:ru-confused:Aw man! Now he tells us. After I went and sold all my train stuff. These RC monster trucks sure are fun though.
Yep, I know Sloof- he's a friend of my buddy P. U. Nethgil. Oh well, it was fun........and Russ, sorry about your selling off alll your N scale stuff. :tb-rolleyes::tb-tongue::tb-wink::tb-biggrin:
Ah, and here I thought all along you were just tryin' to show yer Irish heritage. Sure and begorrah. :tb-biggrin:
Dunno about Bob, but my buddy Sloof is Irish. Ha ha. And in reality, my maternal great-grandmother was born in County Wexford. Boxcab E50
