Best part of this is no more finicky "sprung" chassis. Back to "works well" basics. That Kato sprung chassis is a real PITA.

This is terrible, terrible, news. There's 10 NS heritage units. Throw in a couple from KCS, Ferromex, Union Pacific, BNSF, and even one or two from the smaller roads, like MRL and FEC, and I'm easily looking at a minimum of $2,000.
And if they decide to make fantasy units in ATSF Warbonnet and SP, my ship is sunk!

I forgot about MRL! I have asked Kato if they were going to do certain paint schemes on certain engines and received answers of We have no plans of doing this. At least with FVM we know he will get to them all. I guess I'm gonna have to find a second job for all these. Maybe a 20 unit heritage set?

Okay not only NS heritage units but standard NS units and possibly M-2's as well? I think FVM has started a conspiracy to take all of my money!!

Do I hear the sounds of groaning....but happy wallets out there! I think this is an incredible move on FVM's part and we need to fully support them!

Aren't there 5 different samples of different versions? I doubt FVM would go through the trouble of making different versions and mess up the NS for the heritage units. If there is a flaw, it would probably be a good time to message Matt directly.

We all know you don't like Fox Valley Loco's! Give him a break for doing something that Kato won't do - make all the NS heritage units....

you do not know kato will not do all the NS heritage units. and the FVM m-2 long hood is wrong as well. the sample that shows the ditch lights in the back has the wrong long hood. and i have ditch lights on the back on my NS kato unit that I am making. you can bash kato. but FVM can paint a wrong shell and call it a NS engine and that is ok. now kato paints an engine wrong and the bashing go's on and on. so i do not have to give them a break.

That is what I have heard. I love my Kato products, but they are not going to tool anything new for the release of the NS heritage units - that's almost as sure thing. I also like my FVM Gevo's and can't wait for anything new from both companies in a modern locomotive.

Hooray! I had been wishing for the Ace so I could get my hands on the Virginian Scheme. Now I'm contemplating getting two and renumbering one of them :p I figure, given I model the 70's/80's that two is just as big an anachronism as one lol

I am probably being selfish, but I dont understand the point of asking for suggestions if Kato really isnt gonna listen? Im sure lots of people want 79 passenger sets for their collection. I am not a perfect prototype person and will run things that are not fully prototypical. Why do you make a model of something and only run 2 roadnames(SD70m flat long hood) SP, CSX? Other models SD40-2, not very many roadnames, SD90mac rio grande. Like I said, I am probably being selfish, but I think a KCS or FXE AC4400CW would be more wanted then the rio grand 90. I have over 100 kato units and they run very well. Kato engines are great, but if someone else with similar qualities is gonna do same engine with more schemes that people ask for, They are gonna get my money! Wait! ..... Wait!.... Ok I have my bullet proof vest on. Now you can let them fly! Thanks
