Well, not all that far from where it used to be. At one time I was within eyesight of this operation. Now that it is all gone, I am probably just as good as being a million miles away. :crying:

    PM/C&O/HESR, <1/2 Mile: GTW,CN about 25 miles, D&M/LSRC, probably 65 miles. I like to model what's close to home, I guess.

Well i probably model C&O more than anything else. I also model Chessie and B&O. Now the B&O line ran/runs a few miles from where I grew up and where I moved back to.

As far as the C&O, the closest portion is probably about 70 miles away.

Geeky, you snuck this one in on me by not mentioning the Time poll up front. I selected >3000 miles indicating Infinity because the B&M doesn't exist any more. I should have selected 1000-2000 since time was not an issue.

I'm right where SP used to run and stage trains. So right on the spot.

Of course, insofar as a Frisco line is concerned, I'm only 2 miles south of where the former branch from Okmulgee came into town, and where the remaining segment is currently operated by BNSF.

I'm up there with Sandro--around 5,000 miles. Crescent, CO is a LONG way from SW Germany! I think the Aussie crew that models US railroads may have longer distance. Riog66?
