Welcome back to the gateway to the weekend. I hope most folks first regular week back to work was uneventful in a good way. Let's get started.

Saturday: A while back, I built a project layout for work. It's a version of Lance Mindheim's Palmetto Spur. I built it in HO and it has "floated" in different locations. With the City Job in the one room and my N scale Shadowbox layout in my office, the unnamed HO layout has been a drift. Last month I did finish the legs and stain them, so it is self-supporting. Well, the Athearn Genesis B&M GP9's are going to be here soon and that was the impetus of getting the HO layout in the office. I plan to re-arrange some things and get that layout in the office. I also have a locomotive project that I would like to finish.

Sunday: Probably a continuation of Saturday. I ordered a new book when I renewed my subscription to the B&M RR Historical Society, the book, Queen City Rails talks about Manchester NH and the role the B&M and Guilford had on the city in the 1970's to the early 1990's. I'm hoping this will have some inspiration to lay a prototype track plan in the shadow box layout. Until that book comes, I'll be getting the structure of the shadowbox worked on in prep for shows in the late spring / early summer. Other domestic duties will likely come up as well.

So how about you? What do you have planned for the weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 10th. Until then, have a great weekend, stay warm, stay healthy, be safe and as always...

    High Greens!

    Happy Friday to Y'all

Since phase 1 of my SP F unit project is in the can .... not to sure what I will do.
    Start phase 2 - ? Perhaps.
Get to some other projects-? - Perhaps.
Clean track and run some trains - ? - Perhaps.

Get side tracked by my better half - ? Perhaps

In other words - I have no idea at this point what I will be up to.

    Report on Monday --

    Y'all have a fantastic weekend,

    Happy weekend everyone!

Have some scout stuff to do with my son Saturday. Not sure how long we will be out. After that, i will try to get the wife to go with me to run whatever errands need to be done. if all goes well, I should have some free time to get down to the layout and workbench. Have a couple of projects in the works for the winter layout party plus some freight cars that need some tune up attention that i would like to get to.

Hopefully you will all have a great weekend!

Greetings and a great Friday all. This weekend not much planned for distractions (knock on wood), so I should be able to spend some good time in the layout room. Plans are to work on some scenery and pull some layout maintenance. None of that is carved-in-stone of course and my 7:00AM coffee tomorrow morning in the layout room may dictate a different direction. We'll all find out Monday AM what I really did!

    Enjoy the weekend.

Moose's plans ... how on earth can anyone plan when they have a wife that plans too?!

Okay, okay, rant over ... Moose hope to finish the last few disconnect log cars, then make more logs, and hopefully figure out a good way to secure them with some A-Line brand 40 link/inch chain. Hooves crossed...

    Good morning all,

I have the Carlin section back up on it's edge working on the controls and track wiring for the siding and last 4 turnouts. So the goal this weekend is to finish that and be able to run a test locomotive over all the new track.

Today I finished up some cars this morning that I painted and decaled over the last week. Tonight is bowling hope my better line and relief from the tennis elbow keeps up this wee

Saturday, we hope to meet at the club, but that is pending based on increased covid infections among our members. But in the evening I will be taking down the Christmas decorations and starting to decal a DT&I 86' Hi-Cube boxcar along with painting a Tangent PS 4750 CF Covered Hopper.

Sunday will be continuing decaling the DT&I Boxcar along with the Tangent Covered Hopper, start building another 86' Boxcar kit along with continuing a build of a NSC 4550 CF Covered Hopper kit.

I see a dense cloud of dust from all the projects being done here. :D Me myself is now working up parts for a group of ten open top fifty-ton hoppers. Just now starting wheel installation. I need eighty. I don't think I have enough in backstock. Easy to make though. (y) All have fun and safety.

I am awaiting feedback on a design for (HOn30) decals. Hoping it won't be much longer, so I can place my order! Meanwhile, I have ordered all the track for my new T-Trak "empire" and it is supposed to be here Monday. Next paycheck will be the order, (I hope!), for the module kits. Meanwhile, I should be completing and painting another HOn30 gondola, and then....?

Ohhh, and Moose seems to have fallen back into paint booth design mode this weekend as well. Being an engineer, Moose trying to understand all the design requirements to make a booth that meets applicable safety, health and moose-thrifty requirements. Yep, Moose trying to design a DIY booth that can do it all!

Sadly, Moose cannot can make a booth that is resistant to going "poof!" without using a $1000+ fan... Which means no flammable paints for this moose!

Moose need to re-acquaint moose-self with fluid dynamics to better understand the aerodynamics of paint booths. Yikes!

Any aerodynamicists out there that can explain the effects of the booth user's body on air turbulence in a small open face paint booth?

Moose should also realize that most of the boom levels of aerosolized paints that aren't water based are way above what we hobbyists use. Get a decent CFM fan and you move enough air to keep the paint vapor from accumulating to boom levels.

Good point, then Moose needs to better understand flammability vs ignition. Oh joy, this could take a while...

    Covid Struck our 1yo.
The 1yo has tested positive for < insert strong words here > Covid. The entire house, (except for the infant), has been vaccinated including booster. It is on a 5 day quarantine. That is 7 people in 1800 square feet, (the other stepdaughter is visiting).
The 12yo grandson is sleeping in the living room and can't go back to school for 2 weeks.
I will be running 'Steve School'.
    So Train Wise:
I have some access to the Eastern and Western sections of the Layout
If all goes well I might get some, none or all of the following:
    Paint the base
Paint several of the figures I got for Christmas
Pack up some track to mail off a friend.
    I don't know.
    I'm really tired.

@Grey One Hope everyone stays safe!

I hope to secure the 2'x4' corkboard on the second base as well as the foam on top of it. Maybe, just maybe drop the DCC feeder joiner wires, but need another terminal to actually connect things up, plus have to figure which plugs to get for connecting base 1 to base 2, if anyone has any ideas? I need a 2 wire Male & Female connecting plugs ( actually two of them ), me thinks? Actually at some point I'll need two but not working on the switches or remote turn outs yet on base #2 as I am not sure how I want that track plan exactly yet!

And mainly read decoder sheets so when I get my NCE PowerCab Monday, I can begin to screw CV's up in trying to learn it :) I hope that doesn't happen, but who knows? So, for the most part watch a boat load of YT videos on the NCE PowerCab.

Alright I have to go find out online where all these decoder manual's area for my locomotives? Wonder what decoder is in the Atlas VO-1000? I think it is an NCE, but not completely sure?
