tsk tsk Flash, that would be illegal and I wouldn't want to be a bad influence on other TB members :tb-tongue:. I think I can come up with a bunch of little "quicky" projects to cover a six week time frame.
Anytime would suit me. Maybe a new year layout party would be fun and just in time for my next project, finish laying track on the lower level.
Well 20 Votes for a Winter Layout Party versus 8 for the Spring. So lets go with Winter and see how much interest we get in the Spring. Look for some announcements.
I'm in....I can't WAIT!!! My goals will be easy...finish the goals from last time! Just kidding, sort of. To be fair, I added a couple of "optional" goals last time in case I got real energized so it's not like I didn't get anything done. For those that are new to this, it really is a lot of fun, and probably has been one of the best motivational tactics to get me to work on my layout. Having said all that, one of my favorite sayings is "if you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans". Something WILL come up during the 6 weeks so don't sweat it. Fight through it if you can, work a little harder the next week, maybe scale back your ultimate goals a little if needed. It shouldn't be stressful...try to acheive your goals but make sure you're having fun when you do.
Count me in on this too, but I'm sure my progress won't be as visually stimulating as everyone else's, since I need to complete trackwork and wiring before I jump to some scenery. But I'm in no matter. -Mike
Alright, I have posted the Thread in The Layout Design Forum, in the stick thread section at the top. The Party will run from December 19, 2008 to February 13, 2009. A little longer than the Spring as we have Christmas and New Years festivities. I have locked the forum so no one starts posting until December 19, 2008. However you should be able to read the rules. Only 12 days to Go
Wow, that's an early kickoff. I set myself a goal of finishing the upper level with basic scenery before Christmas and was going to kick back and run trains for a while. Ok... I probably still will. Then start on a new project I think I will set some more achiveable goals. The last layout party I was too ambitious and only completed a quarter of what I set out to do. Still I enjoyed the challenge and the extra motivation that the layout party inspires. Yes I am looking forward to this next challenge (ok, it's a Summer layout party for me:tb-biggrin I would encourage anyone thinking that this is a good idea to take the plunge it can only be good. Let's make this the best layout party ever
 I told my wife that I was going to participate. I've been hemming and hawing over getting something built, and I've decided that this is my opportunity to get started! I'm going to jump in with both feet and get my N scale layout benchwork and at least the main line built. Ooohhh.... the 19th is just around the corner!
Wow! I wish I could get in on this. Time and other priorities are preventing me from doing so. *sigh* Well, maybe next time I can get "on the wagon". Heck, I can't even get out of the house to get on the wagon right now. I guess that is good, since I would probably fall off the wagon on this round. Doesn't mean I won't be watching! I need some inspiration!
Great, thanks! The only question is: will I find a thread with a proper title on this forum in 8 days?
I have to ask if the following would be acceptable: I could commit to: Week 1 - Redo the bench work Week 2 - Finalize track plan Week 3 - Get track down Weeks 4, 5, 6 - wire it Yes / no?
Yes Look in The sticked Thread section of this section and you will see a locked Forum. On Dec 19th it will be available
