Bob, I'm at a standstill here...... Maybe unitrack or peco 55. Hopefully I'll get to work on it soon, now that the holidays are almost over. Happy New Year! Thanks, Loco1999
Loco1999: IMHO you'll have less problems with Unitrack. WNanney on the A-Board has an HO layout and he switched to Unitrack several years ago and has trouble free operation in HO. You could easily ballast and weather the HO Unitrack. That's no problem. You certainly have some to start your layout from other projects. When don't you e-mail him. He'll give you his thoughts on the HO Unitrack. I think he has a 6x12' layout. You could look up his layout in the archives on the A board. Stay cool and run steam.....
Thanks. I have been busy with a new puppy. I changed the bench from an "L" to just along the wall and expanded 2'. I am getting back to work on the HO track. I am sticking with the peco 83, it's good. Loco1999
Yes, backdrop and fascia will be very soon. I am still thinking about dropping the top deck 2". The posi-taps are very nice. I still have to add more feeders. Thanks, Loco1999
Loco1999: What is the size of the layout now? Are you still going with N scale on top? Stay cool and run steam.....
Bob, It's 16' by 2-3' in front and 16' by 2' in the storage room. Yes, N scale will be coming.. Mike, Looks good, I will get there someday.. I am adding ground throws and more feeders... Thanks, Loco1999
Loco1999: That should work nicely for you. The N scale layout will be very nice due to the increased length. Stay cool and run steam...
I am trying to add some light to the HO. It's not working so well for photos, the lights ruin the photos... Any ideas? Thanks, Loco1999
Loco 1999: Make a valence around the lights. That will reflect the light down and not have it scattering across as it does not. You can do it with wood. You can paint the inside of the valence black to absorb rays of light that move laterally. You will notice the difference. Try it on one fixture first. Stay cool and run steam......
Thanks Bob. Would the top layouts facia be enough? Or will the valence be needed either way? Time to get the saws out again. Loco1999
You want the valence to surround the fluorescent fixture. That way the light will be directed downwards to the track below. The fascia board is too far away to have any effect on directing light . They use valences for backlighting which is a very nice effect. Stay cool and run steam.....
