Just test one and see if you like the effect of the valence.

    I think you will. [IMG]

    Thanks guys.

It's a slow road for now.
I didn't get to make the valences yet.
I am waiting for more track to arrive.

I did put a lenz gold decoder in a
    HO Bachmann Spectrum 2-8-0.

    It runs great now! [IMG]

I am ready to work on the N scale track plan.

I have been too busy. [IMG]

    Thanks Bob.

It is 28"-33" by 16' in the main room.
It is 24" by 16' in the storage room.

    I want to fit coal,oil,grain, and frieght/intermodal.

I want double mainline with reversing loops.

I want to plan it right. [IMG]

That a very nice size for N scale. The reversing loops are fun and enhance operations. I have four plus the turntable on the JJJ&E as well as the double mainline.

If I can ever make some progress and get working
on it, I'll have to post in the layout design forum.

Loco1999, i REALLY like how you are doing the N & HO layouts! :D i too run both scales. real hard to do both at the same time in the begging stages. once you get the track for both of them down, things will seem to go faster. ;) [IMG] looks like you have GREAT plans for it, cant wait to see more progress pics! :D thanks, -Deano

Thank you both for the feedback!

My HO flextrack is still backordered. :(

I really have to get on to the N Scale.

I may get the plan down and then "cookie cutter"
the plywood to have some grades. (HO is Flat)

That is a nice SD40 you have there. [IMG]
Mine could use some wipers and MU hoses.
It also came with a plow on each end.

    Thanks,
    Loco1999

    Keith:

The staging area is looking good. How long will it be and how many tracks will be used in that area?

    Thanks Bob.

The two staging tracks are 7' and 6'.
They hold a locomotive and 7 to 8 50' cars.
I think I may add two more single ended
tracks behind the two double ended tracks.

I need more parking for a couple of steam
locomotives. My 2-8-0 and 4-8-2 light mntn
are running great with their new decoders.

Good to hear that the HO decoder installations are relatively easy.
