Bachmann usually is very good about honoring their warranty. If your loco is having an issue, you could try contacting them.
I'm one of those "pick it out yourself" kind of people. I'm so specific and picky in what I want for either railroading or my other model building, it's usually easier for family to give me money or gift certificates. This year, I picked out my own gifts, delivered them to the wife, and she wrapped them. I also picked out my own gift from Santa to be sure the 6 year old still believes. I've done the wish list thing, and I've done the specific URL... but for some reason, I don't seem to wind up with anything on the list or from the URL, even when I know the budget etc... Go figure.
I usually get at least one train related item for Christmas each year. I tell my wife what I want and where to get it and it magically appears under the tree!
i go to Ebay save the trains i want and most of them are expensive and they ask what i want for christmas i say TRAINS and some other stuff too and in the daylight shirt catalag i cercle the shirts i want
This will be about the least sentimental Christmas I can remember but I know for sure what I’ll be getting as my wife and I bought for ourselves this year. So far, in my stocking I’ll be getting: 8 pieces of rolling stock 2 locomotives 1 Walthers building Starting to sound like a pretty cool Christmas!! Brian
Since we are moving in the next few days, we had Christmas early: Bought myself 5 Genesis SD70 series locos, and got a Bachmann DCC'd Conrail GP40, 3-Athearn rtr 50' mech reefers and a Walthers NS coil car from the family!:tb-biggrin:
Nothing for me this year since money is super tight for us. But I will be getting the best present of all - the look on my 3 year old daughters face when she sees that Santa actually did come to our house. Eric

Each year I figure out what I would like, make a list with intenet links and part numbers and show my wife which file it is on the computer. I always have lots more on the list than I can possibly get (or afford), so I never really know EXACTLY what I'm getting and am always pleasantly surprised as she manages to usually slip in something totally unexpected. This year the BIG present will be slightly delayed as she agreed to a Big Boy from Aethern. It doesn't hurt that she absolutely loves the steam engines of old. I've got to check out that wish list thing...thanks for mentioning it guys!

Not me... It's normal for me to find D&H related items under the tree year after year. The wife is always look for things on the internet for gifts for all members of the family and when she comes across train stuff she has access to my list to compair too. I usually leave the Walthers catalog out in the family room with some key items circled. Magically it seems Santa knows what I circled because at least one of those items shows up under the tree at Christmas. :tb-biggrin:
I never expect my wife to get me anything train-related for Christmas. That she has lived with my passion for trains for years and years has been a gift. Now my family will ask, "Dad what do you want for Christmas?" I'll say "nothing much" but the usual little things come, like a good book, socks, nice shirt, etc. Now that box that shows up on the porch from "Train world in New York..." I was just being nice to myself... I'm happy with my health, my family, my books, my piano, still have both parents although I am 60. Hey folks, that's Christmas for me!
My wife and I decided to make contributions to local charities this year, as we have the past few years. In the past the daughters here in Albuquerque used a very wise LHS, in my case Wig-Wag, to make sure I got the right stuff. The other two always send me esoteric stuff, like exotic orchids. I really don't need much more railroad stuff; my wife doesn't need much more jewelry. My traditional Xmas gift from the daughters? A big box of Atomic Fireballs, which we all devour en masse during the Xmas break.
As a rule I am Santa, And most of my friends and family just don't get it about model railroading. If I get anything at all about trains it's some cheap lifelike or two dollar toy that just don't get it. I know it came from their hart in the Sprit of Christmas and I accept it with aplumm and put it in the attic. I do my own train buying for Christmas up untell now, my new girlfriend is very much on top of it and takes a great intrest in what I do in model railroading, And that's different for sure. I caught her looking at the Zimo catalouge and looking at Proto 48 site what a gril! That's my Christmas gift. So where's the Birthday cake and 2,008 candles? Happy B" Day J.C. Fruitcakes!!! I love fruitcakes and if you don't eat em, chip away one small nugget sized piece it will add weight to any loco or piece of rolling stock and will it last for ever. Gotta love a fruitcake Fact: #1 item our troops miss during deployment...you guessed it.. FRUITCAKE, on a C-130 two Bradley tanks have to be left behind just to accomidate 2 small bricks of fruitcake. Believe it or not !!!
