I do all my own railroad buying. If it's a book, my wife can order it through her store. Otherwise, I basically play Santa since my wife is busy working in her retail shop and my four year olds can't be expected to be Santa for themselves. Because of some uncertainties, mostly surrounding my rumored bonus check, which, I just found out yesterday was mailed to the wrong address by someone who did not know and is now bouncing around WHO KNOWS WHERE in the mail, my wife and I decided to wait until the check comes, take care of catching up on some bills, and then maybe do some shopping together for stuff for ourselves. Really, I am enjoying the time with my four year olds, the time with family and friends, and the fact that I still have both my maternal grandparents in reasonably good health and these four generation Christmases are always fun. Today, the wife and kids and I went and delivered food boxes to some elderly folks in a retirement home. One of my girls said, "that was fun to give the food to the old people!" and the other agreed. Christmas was today with my family. Mom gave me a coffee table RR book and some cash. I'll buy my own toys.
