I do that a lot as well. Just curious about what stuff is worth now a days. I might have the same items... and want to know if its worth selling. Sent from my ALCATEL ONE TOUCH Fierce using Tapatalk
I have found that much of the model railroading stuff on eBay is selling at or above my acquisition cost... even used stuff is getting lots of interest... though not everything is selling on the first listng. Sent from my ALCATEL ONE TOUCH Fierce using Tapatalk
What continues to amaze, keeping this topic going, going, is that so much is still available at shops and often for less. I keep seeing one seller trying to push a used book for in the $70.00 range, which is still in print and easy to buy from the publisher under $25.00.
Hmmm... "High Auction Value 309.00 for a used unit"? I'd offer 5 bucks! http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-Scale-Eri...128?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item25a18ff520
At 5 bucks for a sheet of paper, I'm sitting on a fortune! Why didn't I think of this... http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-Scale-HO-...892?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item339eb05354
I'm watching it, but have no intention of bidding. Look at the other stuff this seller has up for auction.
Lets see... LifeLike Erie Built... is sort of hard to find in any condition. But you have to be awfully desperate to pay over $300.00 to get one. Maybe that buyer would like a twin... I could offer mine for $299.99. Sent from my ALCATEL ONE TOUCH Fierce using Tapatalk
I've seen some bad weathering, but "sharpie marker guy" is too much..http://www.ebay.com/itm/Weathered-K...302?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e9ab4450e
The least he coulda done was use multiple colors of 'sharpies' instead of just trying plain ol "black spray paint" grafitti...lol :teeth:
This is some of the worst weathering I've seen: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ATLAS-N-HEA...996?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item234c5b115c This seller does an OK job of weathering, but botches it when it comes to the graffiti: http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-ATLAS-53-...913?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item339ec5c799 What gets under my skin is when they graffiti a car that is obviously out of era: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ho-Scale-Cu...863?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c4f2dcca7
Bleh. Looks like it was dipped in a bucket of latex paint. The "graffiti" seems like a perfect admission of error: "Way Wrong".
Looking at some more of sunny82 work is just amazing. Bright glossy colors applied with a broom: http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-Scale-DPM...444?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ae623fa64
A Southern caboose, not Southern Pacific. If the weathering wasn't so heavy you could maybe tell. Looks like it was applied with a rag: http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-Scale-Sou...822?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ae61912e6
