Hey guys, Here's an initial shot for the railing on the SD40-2. Not earth shaking, but cool! Cheers Joe MTL
Gwyl, Now I know there is at least one other person who has trouble being patient. I'm in good company. Do you suppose if we bribed Joe with all the cream pies he could eat, that he could move the release date up a bit? :O) Loren
Loren, Count me in. How many pies do you need from me to get the ball rolling! LOL. I'm inpatient when I see something I like and need!
Gwyl, I stood Joe up last night for pie for the first time, but I had a fairly good excuse.....snowed under in my dental lab in the middle of summer. Pie is on for Thursday night and I'll ask Joe what his minimum pie number is to twist his arm :O) Loren
We just worked out the Loco Release Schedule for the rest of this year and next year but I can't post anything right now. I should have the chassis to test by the end of this month and tooling for the plastic is well underway. As I get info that I can pass along, I will. Cheers Joe
Is there any hope of seeing a CNW? (Of course SOO would work too ) Other than the 20 AZL's C44-9Ws I haven't seen much of CNW.
which we must conclude means yes to "UP", as they are the only ones of the three listed (SP, UP, and D&RGW) that had SD40-2s. SP and the Grande had tunnel motor configurations of the 40-2s and that variation is NOT being made by MTL (maybe later ???). still, with that good of a chassis and shell it wouldn't be impossible to kitbash SD40T-2s for SP and D&RGW. dave f.
You are assuming, of course, that only prototype schemes will be released. Not a bet I'd want to place... ;-)
Schemes I think I'd get smacked if I did the SD40-2 in an unprototypical scheme...now there's the theme sets, but these loco's will be too pricey for those....ahhhh...too bad ) Being an SP guy, my only choice is to repaint them in CORP to be purely proto...but in my world, SP loved the SD40-2 and had a bunch of them! Making decals as we speak...er..type. Joe MTl
Dave, Considered the SD45 and that would have fit into our plan to rule the world with SP and D&RGW, but in the end, went with something that gave us more legs. I know in my bones that when the SD40-2's start flying out of here the SD45 and I hope, I hope, I hope a Switcher will follow soon. Marketing accused me of being an SP Pimp and the SD40-2 shut them down pretty quick! Cheers Joe MTl
an sd45 would be very sweet, and similar to the GP35 in that SO many roads had them. looking at the test run of handrails, i wonder how well they could be fit to an SD45, if one were to be built?
