Dave, They're about the same configuration...you might have to do some cutting. I saw an adheasive in Detroit that's made just for Engineering plastics and it would keep parts together. Each of the verticals has a small tab at the bottom that fits into a hole in the frame, so if you were to drill holes, less stress would be on the railing. If I remember that top rail is about .014 dia. Joe
You'll have to do a lot of cutting... SD45 and SD40-2 stanchions are two very different configurations... and that's overlooking that SD45 short stanchions are mounted 2" below the long ones (-2 stanchions are all mounted at the same height across the sill)
Here you go guys. This gives you some idea of the configuration between the SD40-2s and SD45: SD40-2 SD40-2 snoot nose SD40T-2 SD45 Rob
I like the 45. The others have too much of an empty walkway front/year. Not looking for a party on the patio
Guess you wouldn't like this back porch either then: http://www.6axlepwr.com/NREX_9402.html http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=88075 http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=248546
That's a huge deck ! Must be for MOW parts or equip. But it would really catch the sharp eye if one threw on a hot tub and a couple of . . . . .
Actually, I don't think it has a purpose. It's just there because they mounted an SD40-2 hood on a (significantly longer) SD45T-2 frame.
Yea...Frankentrain!! That was a Bolster unit or slave I guess. It was never run by it'self, but lashed to an A unit. I am planning on converting our SD40-2 into this unit as soon as I get some shells. I doubt I will be able to power the rear truck, but that might not matter with a powered A unit. JOe MTL
Yes, one has to notice that neither SP and D&RGW owned any 40-2. Both had SD40s and SD40T2s. But no SD40-2s. Dom
