Looks good Vince, The lightest of weathering will darken that gray right up. I would think.

    Nice start! (y)

It would look really nice in the B&O scheme. Or the older CB&Q colors, with "Everywhere West" and "Way of the Zephyrs" on the sides.:)

So anyways on the 2222 I realized I painted the grey to low it should be under the dynamic brake not at the door latches

I'll just say it was a non standard wreck repaint done at the ris shops before they got the standard repaint formats

Sorry about the pics phone since I dropped it and cracked the screen does it's own thing as far as orientation

Enjoy the test on 2222 have to repaint the cab due to blems in the paint

So added the lettering to the hood and no joy in my minds eye it just doesn't look right for fall 1979

    Not the decals fault

It's my design or color choices no idea where I went wrong what a waste

Even this test with the older style lettering helps but doesn't do much

4-8-4 kitbash that was just painted. I am looking for a tender that will look right. The drivers are only a scale 64inches so many bigger tender sit to high.
IHC 4-8-2 chassis ,Bachmann NYC 4-8-4 shortened shell and 2-6-6-2 smokebox front, hobby line s stretched 2-8-4 rear truck side frames. Rear trucks are a second set of IHC front trucks, other would not fit under fire box.

My newest SDP45 #9857 just arrived from DE Germany ?

    And joins SDP45 #9859

They'll eventually gain Indian Rock executive colors as power for the executive trains to back up the 4 F's

They will also be in the general pool when not being used on the directors specials

So got a sweet deal on this from the Kanawha Youngstown and Northern aka @GP30

Was thinking it would become an O.S. unit

But instead it'll become 2nd WNW #2034 an early GP38 rebuilt from an oil bath filter to a dry filter system when last shopped

And the units history stems back to a financial agreement from the parent company Gulf coast trading and shipping

When the Turtle Creek Central couldn't get normal channels of finance to expand their system

GCT&S provided the finance of several groups of units and cars for the TCC expansion lasting but 15 years when the TCC had a downturn in business

The following units and cars were returned to the GCT&S who sent the returned cars and power to the WNW

The WNW did quick patch outs of initials and re number only, plus shop inspections many units stored per shop time was available

    20 Early GP38 TCC #3800-3818
(3819 renumbered to 2nd WNW 2034 still in it's worn out paint and lettering) patch initials

    25 GP38-2 TCC # 3820-3844

50 C6 tear drop covered hoppers (similar to McKean or front range)

150 3 bay open hoppers (similar to Stewart/Bowser)

    50 57ft reefers (Athearn style)

The return of this equipment was because of a downturn in business in the region when 2 mines closed after the anthracite coal fell out of favor, a major cold storage facility switched to trucks, and an aluminum smelter closed their doors.

It was enough to lay up a lot of good equipment the TCC couldn't afford any longer so was returned

Power ranged from decent to very rough some due to lack of maintenance
