I installed the servos and controlling them with Tam Valley Depot quad servos decoders, and the frog is powered by the juicer. I finally got everything hook up and its nice. I Also installed a crossover and everything worked as plan. Its nice to see the loco crawl through the switch. This is what the servo looks under the modules. This the latest building for my module. Its a Nansen Street models build by Ed Turner.

Loren, so far its been very good. The train go through them like they are not there, and with the juicer, I can crawl. So far, I have not experience any problem.
That's good news John. Of course, the results are dependent upon the quality of workmanship. Joe and I have plans for a large module which will require quite a few turnouts. We have one of the fast track jigs so just need to sit down and learn the procedures and do it.
I would have to say that it is the first one that takes time, building the second and the third one will improve for sure, my first took me more than 4hrs, the third about 2hrs, I was building those when the laser was in operation. Problem is now, it has been quite a few months since I've built one, so it will be back to at least 3-1/2 hrs to built another one, since I had forgotten all the tricks I was doing to improved the building process. One thing for sure, once they are done, nothing comes close to them regarding quality and how they operate so nicely. Ben
Mmmhh... The more I look at these FTs the more I believe they're the way to go if Peter Wright doesn't resume his business. Actually 3 months ago I heard someone having issues with them but today I had my first: I heard someone complaining about the Rokuhans, with engines stalling on them... So issue to issue, I prefer the best looking sample.... Dom
Dom, I planned to get some Peter Wright originally, but that was not available. I think Fastrack is a very good second choice. One of the big plus is that it bend the points rather then hinge and doesnt have the bump on the frog. That makes the train run smoother.
Dom, Perhaps John Duino will comment on what he found out regarding Peter Wright. Peter may no longer be involved in trains at all. John?
a couple of Fast Tracks hints: Bend the frog Wing rails SHARP to allow the inner frog exit rails to get in close. Use a traingle file to make a relief on the Inside of the bend. You may even have to file the rail bases to get those rails all close at the frog point. Leave as little 'open space' there at the X'ing for the wheels to drop into. Check the gauge though, especially Guard rails. They should be close to the Stock (outer) rails to pull the wheel away from the frog Point where the two inner exit rails meet. File both sides of the Point's rail Base, right down to the Web (the vertical part), just in front of the last Points solder location. This makes the rail easier to bend between there and the switch rod (a.k.a. the throw bar if you wanna mix terms). John, I noticed that Servo was really 'railed'. Make sure it doesn't overheat, they don't make good stall motors You can get a good NMRA track gauge for Nn3 from Republic Locomotive Works "RLW 2428" (https://www.republiclocomotiveworks.com/show_item.php?ID=570) or search your favorite place. .
Hi Loren, while waiting for John's comment, I infortunately have to confirm what you're telling us. Peter sent me an email a while ago indicating he considers to drop his business owing to health issues. But he also told me that he is trying to find another crafstman who could recover his business..... Dom
Its been a while since I updated this tread. I finally finish paving the roads and beginning to add the sidewalks.
John, you're taking as long as a regular highway department crew...:cute::happy: Just kidding....it looks GREAT!!!
Thom, the y must work faster in your area. The road crew we have down here make me look fast. Joe, I use pinstripe made by line o tape size #8.
I like your work - it looks great. It's so difficult to get the pavement to look alright but you have succeeded well - looking forward to see the finished results later on.
