Almost finished with the master for a NYC express car converted from an ex troop sleeper. I think Rock Island also had a similair car.

That converted sleeper master is so impressive. Really amazed at all of the folks doing sure beautiful casting work. Master making is a very different type of modeling. I made a couple of wall structure masters for Superturbine. He made the castings, but the "crappy-ness" of the celestory master produce unusable casting. Sure glad the rear wall castings came out ok. Was quite a learning experience for me (and NO, I won't post pics of the celestory window castings, would be an insult to the man doing the casting for the mess-up done by the dummy making the master). LOL But will post pics of the rear wall castings.

I always feel a little guilty posting in this thread because what I'm posting is technically no longer on my work bench. Maybe I should start a new thread called "Finished Kits, Custom Jobs, and Scratchbuilt Items No Longer On The Bench..."

Anyway, here's what I finished this weekend:

Finished this BNSF GP38-2, complete with working front and rear ditch lights. Ditch lights are SLEDs made by Streamlined Backshop using Eric by miniatures casting. Not 100% accurate, but it's what we have for now....

First sample of the NS admiral cab I designed. It came out a little rougher than what I was wanting but still looks good. It needs some refinement but it's getting there.

Finishing up the home-made trees. They looks pretty darn convincing!

Still need touching up after they are planted.

Looks great! A little work with really fine sand paper -1000 grit or finer, will make short work of the layers. Once that's done, you won't be able to tell what's 3D printed and what's injection modeled!

I will once I make sure they work. I have revised models being printed that should be here before too long. Once I get a complete one painted, detailed, and installed on a Kato Sd40-2 I'll make them available for sale.

Finally finished the USCG Station and lighthouse. Added a pier to the dock area for the patrol boats. This will be the right side of the point and I will probably build a barracks and possibly a seaplane facility for the left side.

Also finally finished the first part of the NUMA facility which will occupy most of the left side of the harbor area. Still have extensive dock work to do and a couple more buildings including the boat ramp and seaplane hangar.

The guard house by the gate is a creative bash of a plastic outhouse kit. The black objects seen along the edges of the piers and docks are rubber bumpers or buffers.

Went back to revisit the TomyTec Bounty Seafood kit. Took the separate dock section supposed to go on the front and will place it on the side between the structures. The MT cannery will be set on pilings over the water with only the rear loading dock area on dry land. The seafood kit then had the front area converted to a dock with some strip styrene applied to the edge and bollards plus dock buffers. So the way it is shown will be the position on the harbor scene providing docking for the fishing fleet. About six small fishing boats will call this area home with additional docking on the left of the Bounty seafood structure.
This will end up on the right side of the harbor peninsula along with about three other small structures.

I also decided I need just a bit more breakwater area than what was provided in the TomyTec kit so I formed two more pieces from styrene rather than buy another kit. If I decide I need more or another one I will probably visit the local home improvement and check out some wood moldings.
I also decided to elevate the harbor entrance marker light/foghorn/bell tower. So I built some caissons from styrene tube, filled them with stone and then surrounded them with stone riprap. The light/foghorn will now set on that at the end of the breakwater.

Began adding the FVM details to my CR Heritage

Pulling this apart was a bit of a bugger. The shell was definitely on tighter than a Kato shell. I also lost a few of the detail items, so this project is officially stalled until I can see if FVM will send me more in CR blue paint. :rats:

Here is what has been on mine this week. I had the depot built but finally got around to making a template and getting it mounted and soon to be installed next to the Used Car Lot.
