That's great. I can't count how many times the wife and I did that when our sons were young. When they said I gotta go you best be pulling over. No time to make it to a gas station.

Flat tire combined with a ... comfort break ... was my initial thought as well. Does seem like something I remember, though

GP40-2 as the base? I want to do a pair of NS GP50s and I like the looks of this route over using the Kato.

I got a test print of my CR C39-8. It needs some tweaking but I should have it good to go soon.

Been finishing some interurbans. I have been putting Z scale couplers on them. I've been doing the couplers 40 cars at a time and my next shipment of 20 packages should finish the fleet.

With a Northeaster coming down the coast and a himacane coming up the coast, and I being in the middle, decided to try and do a little modeling before the power goes south for days. Having some Bmann doodlebugs that I wasted my time on trying to fix running issues, decided that they were best to be used as fodder in the parts box. With two of the scrapped shells and the mechanism from a 44 tonner I have started to build a boxcab. Ending up with a little unit that is 34 feet from cab to cab end and 36 feet over both pilots.

Looks quite interesting. Hope you have a big umbrella to hide beneath!

With the winds we are supposed to get I would be doing a Mary Poppins demo with an umbrella. Installed some grill work on the sides and then during test fitting the mechanism to the shell I broke a tiny wire from under the circuit board. Of course I had no idea where it went so that involved another chassis being disassembled to find out where the wire went and then breaking out the micro soldering tool to see if I could repair. Got lucky and running again now to get the 2nd unit put back together before the power decides to go. Once I get that done I have to figure out how to box in the lights so that I don't light up the cab and just have the headlights lite.

Some of the old billboards were actually quite interesting. All you need now are some of the Burma Shave signs. :)

I do have n scale Burma Shave signs (also produced by Blair Line) and plan to use them along this stretch of T-Trak highway...

Power still holding out although still very windy and raining so I am still working on the boxcab. Tackled the issue of containing the lights by boxing them in on the chassis greatly reducing light into the cab. Added grills to both radiators and side grills, two short vertical grills and one full length on each side.
    Post script.
Things were perking along just fine until I decided to test out the unit with the body on to see how well I had masked the headlight bleed into the cab. One thing I had forgot to do was trim the trip pins on the couplers and it evidently snagged on the rerailer in the tunnel. I mean where else but in the tunnel. Evidently I did not turn the throttle all the way off and by the time I had slide out the layout to get to the unit a smell was permeating the room of electrons frying. One of these day I will remember to just hit the kill switch instead of spinning the throttle back to what I think is off. Went looking on the Bmann's site for new board and got a sticker shock. Thought about it for awhile and visited my favorite train supplier and found I could get the entire loco, new in box, with factory air for far cheaper than I could get just the new board. So the new mechanism is on the way while I strip down the old for usable parts and by next week I will be back to the boxcab build.
Meanwhile I will continue on with the shell building. Did manage to get the air tanks mounted before I had the meltdown.

That is a Kato GP50 shell, I modified it a bunch and it now rides on an Atlas GP40-2 chassis.
