I really like all the semaphore, telegraph poles, and sign details. They make the scene so much more realistic!

Yesterday I got the information that there will be a modeltrain show at my hometown 06842 Dessau, Sachsen-Anhalt on weekend Nov. 27/28th.
I can exhibit my layout there, the first time finished.

Because I need the place for a new project I will offer this little baby for sale after the show.
So if there is anyone who is interested, you can have a look at my layout there.
Please feel free to contact me via PM, would be great to see one of you (never say Never...) :)

Ouch! can't you hang on to it until march and put it on display in Altenbeken? I would love to see the layout in real life there.

I 've been looking for a while for good Z scale figures.
Yesterday arrived the first set of figures by trafofuchs (http://www.trafofuchs.de/).
I find these figures really nice made and did not expect how they make the scenes more lively.

They are placed around the depot area, more are to come.
One of them is thinking about rebirth of the oldtimer at street workshop...;)

Here are the first three kit built cars of white metal (right and middle) and resin (left). The real windows of the metal cars are quite nice.

She uses the bulk (unpainted) Preiser figures to make collections, groups and individual scene topics

    Hi Matt,

some weeks ago I asked them regarding this, but they said there are still too many uncertainties.
We will see - and hope of course...

    Hi all,

today I added some "left over" lumber on the loading ramp and placed one last truck at my freight house.
So I can say after six years of working and making experiences:

    IT'S DONE!

I am very happy with the result, this Z scale experiment was a good one.
At this point I really would like to thank you very much for your interest, participation, motivation and helpful tipps.
It was much fun to write this story here und to stay in close contact with you. (y)(y)(y)

Now it is time for something new. There is material for a small US-based switching G-scale layout and for a H0n3 dual gauge theme.
Additionally I made first steps in building real model trains with LEGO bricks (approx. 0 scale).
That's pure fun... Do we actually have a forum for this here?

Because of train show cancellation my brother and me decided to meet at my home tomorrow with our layouts, so we can have our special private event. ;)
I will make then some overall pictures of the finished layout with better light.

I am with Scott - thanks, Steffen, your layout has been very inspiring to me. I hope you will return to Z someday, until then I wish you a lot of joy with your ventures into other scales and LEGOs!

    Hi all,

thank you very much for your kind words.
As promised my brother and me took some pictures from finished layout scenes, of which I would like to share some with you.

At first comes the wonderful Mike, leaving the covered left loop:

We 're about to arrive at the depot of Junction City:

    Here stands a water tower...

...as well as an abandoned car repair shop:

This is a busy rail yard:

Behind the tracks you can find John St. Evans' shop for building materials:

Further to the right are a loading ramp and the stock yard:

Finally there is nice Kiowa Creek for some good fishing:

Further more pics from the other side in part 2. :)

Part 2 begins with the operator, who opens the doors for unloading a grain truck:

John receives a flat car with lumber boards...

At Junction City a branch line leaves the main:

Finally we reach freight house, team track and 2 industries: Keyser Coal & Trucking and Baumker:

So sad, your last photo has large black pixelization over the people's face, so nobody can tell if they are enjoying ot just tolerating the trains. All the people you are trying to hide your photos from already harvested them for nefarious uses.
