Went to CRRM this morning, and picked up 3 more books.
Got Vol 5, 11, 12 today. Last copy Vol 10 sold as i was trying to get it!!
Have 4 volumes yet to get. And I know where I can get them, at the moment.
Gonna get 2 more today, before I crawl in bedand hope I can get the other 2 next
payday. Holiday pay then, so it won't hurt quite as bad! Still gonna run me close to $800 for remaining books.
    Can't find 'em any cheaper.

Wow. When finished, it's gonna feel plenty bruised where your wallet used to be!

Also have Vol 7, 10 ordered.
Leaves Vol 8, 9 to get. Hopefully, I
can do that in 2 weeks, when I get paid next.
Holiday pay, for the 4th will certainly help!!
Gonna keep my fingers crossed and hope!!

Speaking of wallet draining books... Any news on the 2nd volume from the Milwaukee shops regarding the passenger fleet ? I have heard rumrs that volume 3 is in the works covering the 1947 built cars.

I don't want to hijack Keith's topic, as this is non-D&RGW, but- Those same rumors have been circulating since the 1990s. Suppsoedly still seeking some specific photos, etc to be complete. All we can do is wait. After this much time, I have lost most of my interest...

I'm somewhat jealous of your collection--the RGS books I have not looked at yet, because I fear I would HAVE to have the whole set once I did! I cannot afford the whole set... :(

Wanted to get the set, YEARS ago!! Could not afford it back then.
At a time when the books could be had at retail cost of $75.
Could not afford then, and almost couldn't afford now!

I know where you can get entire set even!! All 12 volumes.
It'll only run you $1,950US for complete set!
And I think it's located in Germany to boot! Gotta double check.
Almost finished reading V2. Interesting to see what Telluride looked like
back in the 1880/90's and into the early 1900's. Not a big narrow gauge fan either.
But, this series is a BIG exception!!
Should be getting Vol 7, Vol 10 tomorrow. Seller, a book store in KS, has also
agreed to hold Vol 8, Vol 9 for me, until next payday! So, at that point, I WILL have
    the complete set.

Good news is, I sent my payment yesterday morning for the last two RGS Story books
I need to complete my collection!!
Better news, is that I will be receiving books in the mail tomorrow!!
    Mailed Thursday and recieved Saturday.
And yes, it WAS a very costly series, but worth EVERY penny I paid. I think.
Even better, is one book, priced at $280, I'm getting for $265 instead. And I was NOT aware of the until I got the invoice.

Getting Vol 8 tomorrow. I'll see what information it may have, regarding Glencoe.
Will see IF a photo exists of the Depot.

I'll take a look at V8 and drop a note if I come across anything useful. Or even semi useless!
Sunday AM sometime. Gonna have to save some $$$ for next summer. Think a week long, or
slightly longer, trip to explore what remains of the RGS is gonna be necessary!
Was thinking about it for next wweek while on vacation. Other stuff going on instead.
Maybe next year, when I have more vacation time available.
