Flying out tomorrow. The AZL / Ztrack booth is against the front wall of the center, by the doors. Odd place but good traffic! New items will be announced on Friday!!!!

Steve got a mention for his persistence in pushing for Atlas to enter Z!

Great news! Nice work Steve and Atlas! Can't wait to see them!

They look like a nice car, I wonder if it's Atlas's own trucks?

That would be great if they had their own trucks! Regardless it’s exciting to see them release this!

I'm so glad this car has finally been released! The good news is the factory that we are using for this car turns orders around pretty quickly, so this won't be the typical wait for 1-2 years. I'm already working on the second Z car. The best thing that could happen would be for the boxcar to sell well so I have leverage to keep pushing for more Z items.

The trucks and couplers were not an easy decision. I couldn't justify tooling a truck and coupler until the powers that be see that it''s worth it (see above about buying the boxcars!). The best option to get started with was the Full Throttle/Bowser truck and Bowser Buckler coupler. Going forward I'm not sure what I can do about a new coupler. Unlike HO where everyone pretty much uses Kadees, in Z we have MTL, AZL and the Buckler. I hate to add a 4th variation to the mix. We are working on one angle to remedy the situation, will see how it goes.

The sample shown was one that I 3D printed and decaled. We now have the final test shots but there wasn't enough time to use them for the initial marketing of the car.

Feel free to ask any questions.

The image on the stream was scary ! Bettendorf/Archbar and a Rapido coupler! That was blamed on the art depo.

    Bowser trucks are perfectly fine!

    Thanks for your push!

Our goal is to get Atlas's first offering sold out fast to justify expanding the line.

I am quite happy with Bowser trucks. They work great and have metal wheels. One area I think Z is deficient on is that except for the MTL 905, which some have issues with from the slinky effect, we don't have separate body mount coupler available for conversions, or even just to replace broken couplers. Z scale has two companies that make a good autolatch coupler, but neither really sells them as separate parts (AZL does offer their AZL Labs 3d printed coupler)

And a well made Z coupler would quickly find its way into every Atlas N scale shay.
