Actually, this is modeled on Santa Fe's special 4th class passenger train. Passengers rode in specially modified hoppers and with the push of a button the train would slow to 5 mph at the next station and open up their particular hopper door, dumping them through a space in the tracks and onto a pile of pillows. Everyone else in one's hopper bay had to, of course, hang on or risk disembarking at the same time.

    LOL

    Oh Brother! Don't bother!

Someone must be extremely bored and have toooo much time on their hands.

Market it and I can assure you it will sell.

    Who'd of thunk?

It's obvious it's an express hopper. Used mostly during the holidays when people like to ship loads of coal to those VERY bad people on their Christmas list....

    BADDA-BOOM!

What? you people are killin me...

No no, too long for loading coal. That's obviously the Emergency Bakery Flour" car. Because no one in their right mind will hold up the making of pie.

LMAO... I like the passenger hopper idea... or maybe it's a new kind of baggage car - trying to compete with airlines on mistreating luggage. :parghh:

After projecting the image through a mirror onto a piece of cardboard so I could study it....

I think it's technically referred to as a "Warbonnet Hopper", or "Whopper".

Lading is typically a rolled pellet from Fooberite ore (northern peninsula of southern Colorado), commonly referred to as "foobies".

This led to the develoment of the two-car rotary Foobie dumper, as they cars had to be operated A-A back to back.....

Guess you are not going to like my p-42's in ATSF War Bonnet. Got them in the works, going to have a trio of them to pull my El-Cap/San Fran Chief. When I get done will post pictures of them
