Just because KCS came up with some sharp-looking covered hoppers (which have earned the nickname "Belle Hops") does NOT mean this concept will always work.

    What's next- port-a-privies in Warbonnet colors? :tb-wacky:

Actually, seeing modern passenger power in fallen-flag schemes woule be way cool. The Warbonnet Winnebagos......they should look sharp as heck.

That hopper car? Well, nothing a little weathering, judicious application of graffiti, excessive spilled lading, heavy rusting, and a derailment into a burning wreck couldn't cure. ;)

I've always loved the warbonnet paint scheme. Now I want a Bachmann Northern 4-8-4 with that paint job.

No worse than what the NSC has done on IMRC hoppers.

Didn't Lionel get the idea from the one the NSC did about 3 years ago? To be more asthetic I would put the swoosh on both ends or do matching cars that would make an "ABBA" set.

This just in. Evidently a long time ago, Lionel totally botched the Warbonnet paint scheme on some F3s that it sold. They were black instead of silver with the red warbonnet front end. They must have been popular because Williams has brought them out again. About half way down on this page you can see a tiny photo of them. Here is a larger image.

I don't remember seeing those in the post-War (1945-1969) releases. Must have been during the cereal years? Anyhow, bleh. Yuck. Ugh.

    Just shoot me.

    I mean, just shoot me.

Couldn't they have at least put that on a rotating-coupler hopper so they could have an excuse for one end looking different from the other end? At least?

Toy trains have just reached a whole new level of offensiveness...
