Can't help you out with your area, but to prepare you for your trip westward, here's a list of what you'll need for the Deshler area... </font> 160.230 - CSX (Road, ex-B&O)</font> 160.320 - CSX (Dispatcher, ex-B&O)</font> 161.220 - Indiana & Ohio (ex-DT&I)</font> 161.240 - Norfolk Southern (ex-NKP)</font> [ 19. Alright, here's the (photographic) plan. I'll be hosting three photo tours, one in the morning, one in the evening, and one at night. Times given are tentative, they may be shifted a half-hour here or there depending on who's around. </font> Morning - 8:30am - 10:30am</font> Evening - 6:00pm - Sunset</font> Night - 11pm - Bedtime</font> Formulating a list of spots right now and the optimal time to hit each. Of course, all this is assuming CSX runs trains we can photograph at the right times.
Well, last night photo session I did down there I didn't sleep until after sunrise, and even then it was about a half hour nap in the truck cab...
Brian. I bought one of those antennas today. You were right, It does help a lot. I put it on and immediately heard a NS train on it's way. We hot-footed it down to the crossing just in time to get a good spot to watch it go by. I saw a CSX Q train led by two HUGE GE's too, but never heard from it so I might not have the right freq. for CSX yet.
Glad to hear the scanner and antenna are working out for you.... I remember one night earlier this month over here we were getting insane scanner reception. Sitting in Deshler (MP60) we were picking up the Avillia, Ind. detector (MP128.4, I believe). What a night!
Guys, I'll be leaving in the morning for Piqua. I will be there roughly 12 hours from whenever we get out of here. I will see you guys Saturday morning and let's hope for safe travel and good weather for all of us! Hope the grill is hot at the fair when I get there and hope they have plenty of Cokes on ice! God Bless and I'm looking forward to seeing you again! Don't forget, next time you gotta come my way! Route 80 to the George Washington Bridge! Then it's only 15 minutes to my house! TOOT TOOT! JOHNNY TRAINS
Okay, John, see you at 10:30 at the Crossroads Park shelter! Just remember, if you get lost to find the diamond in Deshler and you've found the park!
I should be around online until Thursday night as I'll be leaving probably before sunrise on Friday. Looks like my new stock of film will be here before the weekend, too. I might actually get to shoot with you guys! LOL
