Rick, Worries about me are noted, thanks. Being 1400 miles away from my layout sort of prevents me from making stupid mistakes. Don't worry, when I move it here, there will be plenty of mistakes! We are not too concerned about liability issues here, except for making a really serious attempt to enforce copyrights. Someone could garnishee the total salaries of all the staff and receive exactly zero. Sometimes I wonder, if you sue something with a negative net value, do you have to pay the defendants if you win? I have no problem discussing these kinds of issues, as long as it stays civil. I see no staff/member conflict about policies--they are over on the support forum, and seem not to draw much comment. I do have a rather stupid mistake to relate about my N-scale ships and building the mount and gun tub for a quad 40mm Bofors. Like, the master is beautiful and never seen before in such detail--but how do I cast the blessed thing? But that ois ship stuff. I think there are times when the staff has to make unpopular decisions. I think it's just unavoidable. I think policies wouldn't make an unpopular decision any more popular. Now my English teacher would rap my knuckles for using "I think" once, let alone three times in a row.
Pete, Having been in administration myself I know about the decision making process and the difficulties involved. When you take the position you know up front that the discipline you exercise will not please everyone. All I ever wanted to see here was fair play, that all get treated equal and we do things with purpose. Overall I'm happy with TrainBoard and the Administrative staff. If I have something to say I will write a letter in private and discuss my pleasure or displeasure. I think most of you already know that. Good to see you back. Now we've got to figure a way to get your layout back up and running. Mistakes? Yeah, I will look forward to the fun. Heck, we all make mistakes. Watch me! Let's see it's coming up to Memorial Day.
