Last saturday I made my annual visit to the Derby Model Railway Show. This time I could catch the train from my local station The platforms are being renewed (slowly). Here is the framing in place on the north end of the up platform.
My train was the usual class 153 units (2 of them), but they were towing a class 170 "because they wanted it out of the way at Lincoln" according to the conductor! We went to Sleaford where I go off to catch a Skegness-Nottingham service. The driver then went to the cab of the 170 to take the train back to Lincoln, where the 170 would resume it's normal diagram and the 153's would carry on with the Lincoln-Peterborough turns. Edit: Forgot the picture. Here is the driver walking past one of the 153's towards the 170. Not a great photo - grab shot against the sun. [ April 28, 2005, 08:25 AM: Message edited by: Alan ]
My train from Sleaford was a class 158 non-stop to Nottingham, where I changed on to a Derby bound class 170. Pictures from Derby later......
A Midland Mainline HST arrives. The lead power car is still in the old paint sceme, but the coaches are in new paint.
The rear power car of another MML HST, this time in new paint scheme, next to a Central Trains class 170
