Almost the whole of the station canopy roofs were supported by some serious girder work! All I could find out from staff was that the roof was to be replaced ..... sometime I guess that they found a defect in part of it and health and safety concerns demanded that the whole roof be supported!
Nice shots...I am jealous that you can ride rails for virtually every destination in the UK. Different subject, although evidenced by your photos: In his column in the June issue of Trains Magazine, Don Phillips implies that the current UK practice of running privately owned trains on publicly owned rail infrastructure is a financial disaster. How is this being reported by the UK Press? Is there any truth to Don's statement? Or does the truth lie somewhere in the middle of paradise and disaster?
