Looks like an NW-5, but unless it's second-hand to SOU, I didn't think SOU bought them new. Pinkepank, 1974.

Last one listed, Southern #2100. Ten to GN. Two to FSUD. One to Southern makes a total of 13.

Great to see an old soldier NW5 still earning its keep.:)

The Mass Central scheme is bright and vibrant (mind you, it's still fresh paint...:ROFLMAO: ), though the front of the cab gives me a weird vibe, like a mime or a clown face...:cautious:

    Or it's squinting. :D

(I know it helps protect against sun glare and extra heat getting into the cab, but the rest of the cab is black o_O).

Taken in June 1982 at Hudson Yard in Wilkes-Barre, PA, this little yard shack caught my eye. Gotta love the horseshoe hung over the door and the chimney, perhaps removed from a caboose. This would make a wonderful li'l scratchbuilt structure.

Don't sneeze with the door closed or you'll blow out the windows! :ROFLMAO:

I am curious- In my recent chasing of D&H information, I have a train order from "Hudson". I am wondering if this yard is where that was copied...?

Hudson Yard in Wilkes-Barre, PA would be my guess too. It was a busy place back in the day, with the CNJ, Wilkes-Barre Connecting (built by the D&H and PRR) and D&H all making their way in there.

By the time I took these shots in October 1981, the yard had been greatly reduced in scale, though it remained in use. The engine terminal always had some cool stuff to be found. I'm not sure what's there today.

Now the GN Geep is sitting all alone, rotting away. Instead of putting in front of the depot, where a section of track was preserved, it sits several blocks east... I am not a happy camper. This is just stupidity.

The Rio Grande Railroad was a line in south Texas along the Rio Grande river in the late 1800s.

My guess it the tapered cylindrical objects were for holding some liquid commodity for shipping. There are two of them on that flat car but the second one is pretty well hiding behind all the people.
This car was used for transporting petroleum products in Pennsylvania.

Last time I seen it, it was parked here... is this the same place you are talking about? I might drive up to Pinnacle tomorrow to winterize my parents cabin and if I have time, I'll swing by and take some pictures.
