The tenders with the covers are all older Dimi Trains tenders that had the coal load tender. Tichy Trains may still have either the cover or the entire tender. The others are mostly old Rivarrossi or Bmann tenders that had an oil bunk installed. Both the snow dozers(the BN and SP&S one) were part of a two unit set from a Japanese firm acquired long ago and slightly modified. Unfortunately do not remember the manufacturer.

The BN and the SP&S units look like the are from a DD16-304 snowplow set by Micro-Ace (A7511). A new release is scheduled for December.

The Timberline and Blue River RR owns one rotary snowplow, but for us it works. Have already had the first snow, but it was only a few inches deep. We're ready. The line would like to buy a wedge plow when funds become available though.

You jogged my old brain and I found it. Was two car set when I bought it over ten years ago.

That's a brass kit. I was thinking they were something along the lines of this plastic two unit set.

BTW, I'm planning on going to Timonium on the 26th and make a stop at Cockysville if you need anything.

With the exception of the shape of the cab what I linked to is almost a carbon copy, with all the tanks and piping, definitely plastic, and was a two unit boxed set.

Thanks for the Timonium offer but this side of my world is on hold for awhile until I see how well I can recover.

Still can't believe nobody else has mentioned the jet blowers. I ordered two from BLW yesterday. They come lettered for MILW, but I can solve that !!!

Old russell #4 is ready to clear the tracks on my line.

Sadly ARR rotary #3 is still nothing but a geared motor, rotary head, and plastic sheeting waiting for some attention and ambition to bring her to life. Maybe after the first winter storm locks me indoors I'll get motivated.

OK, now that we're all yappin' about snow plows, I've got something here. Looking at my Russells and my rotaries, I notice a fair amount of good-sized windows. I am big on interiors. I ALWAYS do my passenger cars, and I'm still working on my cabeese. What would be inside these plows ??? Of course, I could always cheat. I could glaze the windows and cover them with dirt/soot/hydraulic fluid on the inside. I have thought about stuffing a M/T boiler (flat car load) inside the rotaries, just to have something to look at, ya' know ??? They just seem so empty !!! What do ya' think ???

The rotaries would have the boiler and power transmission equipment for the rig taking the space. The Russell type would have at least part of the space serving the hydraulics for the side wings and flanger, also possibly some crew space. The electric rotaries would have space for the traction motors and any reduction gears plus the hydraulic system for the flanger and then most likely crew space again.

My layout was caught woefully unprepared for THIS winter onslaught.

Looks like an onslaught of beavers rather than a winter onslaught. ;)

And I thought the 4" or so that we got here was too much!! :teeth:
Two days later, I decided to go for a drive in the stuff!! Had a couple of 3 rail
locomotives I dropped off for electrical work. Thankfully, most roads were not too bad!
Currently 2.2* outside. Hope those getting blasted are safe!!

And no intent, or interest in getting the G Scale out and running a plow train!

DrMb and Boxcab, he never said it was snow, and it's FAR too big to be N scale wood shavings. Judging by the size and color, it looks like thousands of Christmas turkeys !!! But how ???
