15" in many areas of Albuqueque last night and it's still coming down. Probably not too many walk-in customers today. Hopefully I'll get near caught up on the e-mail backlog. We have already set a record for most snow in a winter with this storm and the 9" one last week. The storm over the last day has set a record for most snow in a single storm. Yes I know other than how do I model trains stuck in the snow(?), I'm not sure how this ties to N-Scale but it's different none the less.
Be safe George! Thats ALOT of snow. Now might be a good time to put BMLA and Sunrise snowplows on sale!
Outside of one brief rain/ice mix day the weather here in the East has been good. A friend who owns a snowplowing business up in the snow belt SE of Lake Erie is taking a winter vacation as he claims the weather comes in cycles of two and this will be the second year for lack of snow. It was much colder last year though. We shall see. As they say in Pittsburgh, "if ya don't like the weather waite six months."
I'm near the foothills of the Sandia mountains. I'm measuring 18 inches so far, and still coming down. That is a lot of snow for Albuquerque. Yesterday set a record for the city with 10.5 inches in one day. I got about 13 inches here yesterday.
George, wasn't the lone ATSF rotary 199361 stashed in Albuquerque? Or did they send it up to Topeka? It's been like 10 years since they even tried to run it, I think.
The last ATSF rotary was staged from here for many years. I think it was donated to the CSRRM with the rest of the heritage fleet that was sent out there to be stripped and turned into scrapper fodder.
Shall I take up a snow shovel collection in my nighbourhood and send them down to ya ? It's not sunny but it's warm here in Southern Ontario.
I doubt that UPS could deliver them. I'm near Denver and all my mail and packages that were supposed to arrive by Christmas just got here in the past two days making them a week late. It's still a mess out there. It's sunny and melting today though, but there are mountains of snow rivalling the real mountains just west of town.
I'm up to 22 official inches at the nearest measuring station. I'd say an easy 24 inches here from my trek out back. The kids claim they are coming over regardless. Tommy's got an F250 with four wheel drive.
Unfortunately, I think so. Certainly climate change. You may heat up while we cool down. Weather extremes.
62 degrees in Southern Maryland. Spent the day with the windows open and in shorts and a tee shirt. The forecast is for a washout for Maryland on New Years Eve.
Today 30 December 2006 and it rained and rained in Minneapolis / Saint Paul Minnesota!! In the Twin Cities Metro, I think we only have had an inch of snow all season thus far and that melted the next day!!. Crazy.
Yep today was a great day in Maryland. Went to woo woo woo's with the top open on my car...then railfanned portions of the "Old Main" through Landsdowne, St. Denis and Relay. But I wish it would just snow...gimme 6 inches God! Wait wait wait that just didnt sound right!
Yesterday's was the first day we got snow in the snow belt above Toronto here is the ex-Great White North. Unfortunately it all melted today.
