To make photos of rolling stock I have to finish some projects started long time ago. Those are dummy rolling stock piecs for narrow gauge. The first diesels were finished. They are 3D printed. The original diesels looked like this: My models:
Actually they are not switchers. They were and still are used in regular "long distance" narrow gauge service. By "regular" at this moment I mean mainly tourist service. I do not see the option to motorize them at the moment but I think it will be nice to have one moving with trains. This can be done using one of the cars as a "ghost locomotive" as I did some time ago with small narrow gauge steamer: It will be necessary to have 3-axle chassis for a moving model. I see two options: - use of 3 axle motorized chassis: https://www.tgauge.com/product/533/co-co-motorised-chassis - it will be rather costly option - photoeched chassis to hold 3 axles Maybe in the future ...
Next module will be quite big - instead of 220mm it will be 440mm long and 500mm wide - with trucks on both sides: The main landscape element will be the small river with the lake The main eye catcher - small narrow gauge line :
I have 8 modules that are 440mm. I found that length is ideal for transporting and yet minimizing module connection points.
Pawel, Looks good. What did you use to create the river and lake? Also, what chassis are you using for the trolley, 16 meter? Scott
Creation of the river and the lake: 1. Glue supporting bars under the plywood along the edges (4 bars) 2. Wait until it holds firmly 3. Cut the shape of the river and lake using jigsaw 4. Shape the edges to create the banks 5. Glue thin plywood under the main bard to create a bottom of the river and lake 6. Use Woodland Scenic Flex Paste C1204 to make the bottom water (resin) resistant. The paste fills the gaps and create an isolation to any place I used wood white glue. This is not good for resin water to have contact with wood glue due to the fact that resin can get milky look. For trolley I used 049-C 49mm chassis. I follow up with lake creation: Start of landscaping (not very complicated): Loading area and road: "Dead forrest of birches" on the edge of the lake:
Pawel, Thanks for the "how to" on your river and lake. The reeds, trees and water look great! You are moving right along. Scott
I created road and railway crossing to camouflage Rokuhan electric connections: Some lanscape formation and concrete weathering: I used small gypsum elements: To create platform edge:
Landscape formation and star with vegetation as well as some work with river banks done. For gluing foam on the banks of river I use resin water in order to avoid conflict of white glue withe the river resin. White beets waiting for transportation by narrow gauge. Beets were made using arugula seeds. Low vegetation first layer done. Waiting shed on narrow gauge made of some Kibri scraps.
