Happy Independence Day!! Did'nt get anything but working done this week. So here are some pics of an older layout I had several years ago. Dan
Some nice work above. One of the DRGW pictures looked like brown hoppers? IF I saw those colors correct, do you have proto pictures to match? I'd love to know if the proto cars match those done by Twx and would really like to encourage them to do them.
Dave, How does that Tunnel Motor run with your Dash 8? Pretty good? Nice shots everyone! Nothing for me this week.
Sinec Rail Images is not working, I cannot upload my shots of the Challenger, UP 3985 coming back from its Houston trip this week... So this will have to do. I took the tunnel motor shot below, and added the magic:
CP 5479 SD40-2 75615-5 History (chronological): Built by EMD as: SOU 3248 1975 Renumbered to: NS 3248 19xx Sold to: GATX 3248 1991 Sold to: CP 3248 1992-06 Renumbered to: CP 5479 1993-04 CP 5484 SD40-2 75615-10 History (chronological): Built by EMD as: SOU 3253 1975 Renumbered to: NS 3253 19xx Sold to: GATX 3253 1991 Sold to: CP 3253 1992-06 Renumbered to: CP 5484 1993-04 Notes: This unit was never painted CP before being sold. Disposition: Sold to East Coast Motive Power (1999); resold to First Union Rail (1999), rebuilt and chop-nosed by GEC-Alstom at their former CN Pte.St.Charles shops to FURX-3048 (2000). ...and the winner is: G R E E K !
well, I haven't been able to upload anything new for a while, but I did find this one that I've never posted before. This shot is a pair of 2-8-0s, and the differences between runs can easily be seen.
Looking good everyone. Thanks for posting. Here is an old one of mine. One of the Priser Folk was having a problem standing up the day I took it.
Scott - My tunnel motors run fine (non-DCC here) with both my Atlas Dash8 and all of my Kato units. That particular Dash 8 is pretty closely matched in speed to my Kato's, and so are the tunnel motors. I have a couple of the Dash 8's (Santa Fe's) that are a little slower than the Kato's and as a result I have to clean the wheels on them every once in a while. The best I can guess is because they are running a little slower in the consist and they are lighter, so they tend to act as rail cleaners. . . The tunnel motors are sweet running locomotives! Dave
What kind of hoppers? Body or truck-mount? Very sharp engines, ain't they? I love my pair, and would get another half-dozen if I could afford it! Then again, I'd have more D&RGW unis than my BN SD40-2 fleet, and that ain't good to be a BN modeler, is it?
Help, I can't remember. I would like to post a few pictures but I can't remember how to resize them in the code. If I don't resize, they display huge. Thanks,
Chad Try this, it works on Snitz forums, so it might work in here: (img src="yourURL" width=480) except the ( and ) are actually < and >. Note there is a space between img and src and after the second ". We can but try. I keep this written down on a scrap of paper by my monitor.
Thanks Thirdrail, it works. Here's a few better late then never. Very nice, Chad! Here's some pics of my recent foaming outing to Archer Hill, east of Cheyenne, waiting for the 3985 to show up: More in my Rail Images albums! and check out the articulation!
Here's an interesting loco I came across on my travels - a newly redone SD-9 chop nose for the Royal Gorge excursion line in Colorado.
Just down loaded all the new software to be able to upload photos to my Railimages account. Here is a shot I just uploaded of a BNSF train leaving the old Santa Fe main in Rosenberg and heading into Houston on the UP's Sunset Route.
