Richard - that first shot in the last series (from June 10) looks like they used Woodland Scenics stuff to do the scenery. Great shots!
Curiously enough, the bridge in Cartersville reminds me of a bridge in Brazil. Maybe it's because I've seen shots of patched CSX power (among others) crossing that bridge.
Don't know how I have missed this great thread up until now--most of these photos cover the area I am currently modeling in n-scale. In fact, I am currently finishing & painting the backdrop for Emerson, GA and that Etowah River bridge will be the focal point of the lower level on my layout. Thanks--looking forward to more pics! Jamie
Caught this CSX unit on the Ohio Central in Newark Ohio. It appears to be one of the GE Super 7 units.
Here is a link to my CSX web page where I have some photos and a few videos of CSX trains from Highland, NY, and the Selkirk yard near Albany, NY. http://www.joecool.org/csx.htm Joe
BNSF FAN, thats a rare catch there! CSXT has retired just about all of the B23-7's, B30-7's and many B36-7's off the roster. 3185 is one of four ex-Monongahela Super 7's. No idea if the other three are retired yet. Real surprised it made it to dark future paint!
Very nice pics I also model CSX in N scale. You can check out my layout in the album section. I started to model about two years ago and I still have a lot of work on my layout (this is my first layout) I tried my hand at a few custom locos like the GP38's in C&O livery and I also built some CSX COKE EXPRESS hoppers (also in my album) I have two so far I'm planning on making about six of these hoppers. I also have tons of Chessie, B&O, C&O locos and rolling stock. I'm a CSX and anything related to CSX junkie.
Hello. I am thinking about building my first N scale layout after having to throw out my HO layout I started on a few years ago. The HO layout was suppose to be NYC in the mid-60's. If I do an N scale layout, it will be present day with CSX. As you can tell from my link above, I have lots of videos of CSX from Highland and Little Falls, NY. Little Falls was a great place to video as I was near a crossing and the gates would come time giving you enough time to fire up the camcorder and start recording. Unfortunately they took out the crossing so now the trains sneak up on you. I am brand new to this forum so I don't know where the album section is but I would like to see what you have done as I may be doing the same thing. Thanks. Joe
Caught this unit in Calhoun GA a couple of weeks back. My fist shots for 2010. The weather sucked so it's not a great shot. Just thought it was nat how the numbers had been redone on the back of the unit.
There's a CSX (C&O) "Safety" caboose parked just outside the South Charleston, WV yard. I got a couple pictures of it, if you like. Sorry about the telephone pole. It was spotted right by the pole, and I didn't want to trespass on active tracks (or any tracks!) to get a clean shot of the other side. CSX #900035 I might try to model this sometime if I can find a car to work from.
