I'd like to say welcome , ValveGear2K1, to trainboard. I see that you're from Salisbury, N.C. So I bid you Greetings, from Salisbury, Pennsylvania!!!
Mike, Its the fact of the matter of what they did and also what they over looked! They didn't notice or care to notice the cracked worm gear retainer or anything. Also I seen the railing differences, the extra weight that was added that I showed you. They didn't touch the motor or gearing thats a miracle!! It wouldn't run like a swiss clock if they had!!! Concidering the poor job they did to the minor stuff. Thinking about it, Mike it looks like who ever done that repair job was in a HUGH hurry to get it done and out of the shop it was in. And sadly all quiet about it as well. You know as I remember it when you brought it to me and wanted the head light fixed I recall that their was a few things back wards where the light is thats why it wouldn't burn like its suppost to! I looked at my parts repair manual and it showed a few things that was not right and it was shorting the light out and none the less of the metal strip that would get contact to the wheels and short it out their as well too. Anyway did you clean the wheels and the track??? To get rid of the flickering light? If not it might still be shorting itself out somewhere. I might have to put a rubber coating on the bottom side of it to keep it from shorting out. Thats the last alternative though. Let me know how its acting and if it only flickers on curves and or both curves and on the straights.
Mike, Ok see what that does and nothing else let me have once again to see what may be still causing it or where its still shorting out. I got the message that you called earlier and I wasn't home I went looking for a fuel pump and fuel lines for my car. So.... But anyway let me know what was on your mind. I should be home tomarrow afternoon around 6 or 7 PM. Unless Auto Zone calls and got the fuel lines already! Then maybe not. But thats a whisper in the wind anyway..... I should be around. You also can e-mail me at yellowstone10@hotmail.com if you want. That way I can add your e-mail address to my address book. [ 19 April 2001: Message edited by: 7600EM_1 ]
With all of the manufactures that we have carried in the past, as of this moment I can truly say that Broadway Limited has done a better job backing their product, we ship out 325 plus locos from them and of course we have had a few bad apples, once I get on the phone with Broadway they either send the part or request it to be sent in and they will repair the item. They acknowledge that they have had a few problems in the past and they have been determined to take care of the customer. Some of the other manufactures take a little more pressure for results.
