Stewart. I think they make the best mechanism. These Genesis details are much better than Stewart, though. Still, you can detail the Stewart.

Tom: Seeing that Mark came up empty in finding Folk Art Amish Blue, I 'll check two Craft stores not too far from me sometime this week. Maybe I'll get lucky.... Stay cool and run steam.....
I finished weathering some cars this morning. I decided to try Tom's favorite Folk Art paints , Country Twill, Asphaltum, Raw Sienna, Burnt Umber and a charcoal gray for the roofs: Thanks Tom ... Stay cool and run steam....
Cold and wet outside here but the MOW painters are putting the last coat of primer on the bridge before the snows come.....
Snow!! Man I like those Kodachromes! I don't have nice scenery like satokuma, but... B30-7 from the original easy Bachmann shell kitbash. Notice giant screw fuel cap. : The very first SP Kodachrome. Notice the white SP letters: And a hard working GP9, from Atlas unnumbered series: This is a pretty good WNFF!!
Yes, they are Paducah rebuilds. They were rebuilt in the Paducah shops in March 1978 and April 1979 for the Ashley Drew & Northern. They were originally IC 9201 & 9352. Once they were rebuilt, they never wore IC paint. They will be painted as ADN 1810 and ADN 1811.
Wow, a bunch of cool stuff. Tad, nice work on those locos. Nice Kodachromes!!! I have to get some.... Bob, the weathering looks great. Sweet scene Wolfgang! Trainworx are the best. SW, new cars cool? Tompm, great weathering. I got a few items at trainfest. It was worth the long drive. Loco1999
Loco1999: The loco's look great. Looks like the long drive to Trainfest paid off for you. I really like the steamer. Who made that one? BLI?? The sound must be very nice in that steamer. Enjoy... Stay cool and run steam.....
It was cool, I forgot the camera. No sound in these... Yet... Sound will be QSI in the tender. It's a Spectrum Heavy Mountain. Was that a HO cab forward steamer on the intermountain table? The Atlas mp15's looked very nice. Loco1999
Chad That is one sweet looking locomotive! Mike Neat photo editing! John Breen Nice looking scenes! BTW my daughter spotted Herbie! Tad The locos are coming along nicely! Wolfgang Great looking scene! What are the loads on the flatcar? Bob The weathering looks great! Glad the colors worked out for you. satokuma Great looking scene! Flash Terrific looking locos! Loco1999 Great finds! That steamer looks real nice! Bob and Mark Thanks for fighting off the old lady in the search for Amish Blue. Too bad there was none to be found. According to a chart in the local AC Moore, Creamcoat Dolphin Gray is a match for Folk Art Amish Blue. I have a bottle and I am trying it out and it seems to be pretty close.
Tom: I'm glad you were able to find a close match for Folk Art Amish Blue. They discontinued that color. What do you use it for exactly? Stay cool and run steam....
Bob Thanks for looking! I use it for roofs, and one of the many colors that go into my rock coloring. I also use it as one of the colors for roads. Right now I would have used it to repaint the farm house I am working on. The Dolphin Gray, however, is doing a fine job. At my local AC Moore they have a color reference guide that tells all the different craft paint colors, current and discontinued. It gives color matches for different manufacturers. It also tells you what you need to mix to make a certian color. For Amish Blue I think I remember it saying you could use Folk Art Slate Gray and White.
Tom: I found the Folk Art Asphaltum and Country Twill to be great colors to use for weathering. I tried to keep the weathering on the light side and not try to overdo it. I also picked up some other Folk Art Colors that would help in weathering structures and cars. Thanks for the tips. Stay cool and run steam.... Superb bunch of pictures this week One thing that stands out on many of them is the wonderful weathering of locos and stock. One day I hope to get around to that, after the basics are done. Another thing I really like are the black and white pics of steam locos - just look right, somehow.
