I think that William will make it soon. I have several hundred feet of track to ballast. Great looking caboose. I like the before and after shots. That GMM kit for the caboose is one of the best.
Nice work on the caboose Wyatt. Here is my latest effort. I scratch built a rail packer for my small intermodal yard.
Overshoe: Great pics. Very realistic. I like the NS in the hole waiting to depart. The other shot above the overpass makes me think I am in southern Georgia. Looks like Atlanta where I used to do some railfanning. No, kudzu, though. I think that is hard to model.
Excellent scratchbuild, Red Rock. Did you use plans or just eyeball it? Did you take measurements? Nice job, though. Decals next.
Here is another one of my West Texas oddities. Bryant [ 20. December 2004, 01:15: Message edited by: Bryant ]
Thanks Flash. No plans, mostly just eyeballed it from the photo. I have one of the Showcase Kalmar kits, so I gave this one the same footprint as the Kalmar. The rest I just tried to make look convincing.
Bryant. Great photo! That is up there with Overshoe's NS photos and Tompm's photo module. Do you have an album here? On Rail Images?
A fantastic ending to a non-productive weekend. Can you see the light?? After some basic rewiring, I finally got that SP F (?) unit running that I recently got in an eBay deal... seems the previous owner tried to hardwire the loco to run in reverse... but the light (grounded to the body) was shorting it out. So now, the light works and the engine runs very nicely! Will get some gear grease and button it back up tomorrow. And the BONUS I found out was its a ConCor with a KATO motor - what a great ending!!! (If you were thinking about buying it from my yellow forum thread - the price just went up sorry!)
Thanx Flash and Red. The weathering looks alot better in person. Out of my 425 cars, only about 10-15 are weathered. So I guess I am going to get alot of practice. LOL Well back to the salt mine tomorrow. I would rather stay home and work on the layout. Adios wyatt
Luckily, we don't have kudzu growing up my way... yet. Thanks for the kind comments folks! Happy Holidays!
Thanks, Flash; Yes, I have an album here although I work on it sporadically. Bryant http://www.railimages.com/gallery/Bryant-Mansfield
I recommend looking at this album; about 31 pics. There are some unique techniques for roads, rocks and a generally overall exemplary album. Bryant, maybe you will give us some how-to posts on this. HO scale; techniques apply to all scales. My first impression was, "You can't do it that way!"
First class on CityRail??? </font>
You bet, First Class. SYD Terminal, Platform one on Wednesday. I should be there around 2:00 pm. Will call cell phone around noon. </font>
Cool man, the Indian Pacific will be parked on P1 (or P2 and P3) so that will be our starting point
