I guess I can kick things off here this week. Welcome and show us some cool photos that you have. Watching the recent TV show featuring Art Fahie's N scale layout I recognized this building. I guess this is what Art thought my workshop should look like. Some day I really have to make it up to Maine and see all this.
First time Weekend Foto Fun poster. Trying to hang out on Trainboard a bit more.... A very sad looking CSX Slug. They really don't seem to take care of these things at all. This one was in Brunswick Maryland.... A CSX rock train just west of Brunswick...
Great start Russell! That is an awesome building! Great looking avatar Mike! I have to get around to talking to you about one for me. Looks great Loco1999! Chad Great shot! Love those ALCOs! HemiAdda2d Awesome photo! It does seem like a lot of power for such a small train. Bob Great layout shots! I really like the sepia effect in the last one! Leo Welcome to the Weekend Foto Fun! Great CSX shots! Here is a quick one that I just took. This is one of the newest member of the roster. Lehigh & New England U23B number 862. It is the second fantasy paint LNE paint scheme I have done. I just finished re-assembling the locomotive and adding all the railings and grab irons. The locomotive also just finished its latest test run. Next is weathering.
Here is a shot of my latest paint job you can read more about it here Custom Paint a MOPAC U30C Project
Nice U-boats! Ever thought of painting up some 100-ton hoppers to go with these (Bowser, McKean)? A 1970s-era L&NE would look nice!!
My new Kirby refueling area has some more detail, but still more to do. Here is a snoot nose at the refueling pit. Looks like more blue grass in the background. Oh, well! : Cotton Belt GP9 spots tank cars with diesel fuel at the siding for Kirby. New Espee fuel storage at Kirby. [ June 18, 2005, 08:04 AM: Message edited by: sapacif ]
Hi, all, I've been busy, so no new N scale weathering pictures (yet). Working on dirtying up my Atlas SP SD9Es...... However, on the topic of great model railroads: I had the chance to visit Kermit Paul's HO Lone Pine and Tonopah layout during the May 2005 PCR-NMRA regional convention layout tours - it was a real treat. Kermit was nice enough to give me permission to share some photos that I made of his layout. Kermit's layout is the cover shot on the Kalmbach book, "Realistic Animation, Lighting, and Sound", by Kent Johnson: Here's one shot as an example from the Kermit Paul layout tour: You can see the approx 30 photos at: http://community.webshots.com/user/atsf_arizona_layout_tour4 Look for 'Kermit Paul Volume 1' and 'Kermit Paul Volume 2'. In addition to Kermit's layout being a real model railroading piece of art with beautiful scenery - the layout also has full ability to go from day to night, it has a multitude of innovative animations and sound, and upon entry, you'd see the neatest, cleanest *garage* of almost any model railroader I know. (smile) The photos don't do justice to what the Lone Pine & Tonopah looks like in person (taken with a handheld digital without tripod, under ambient 'evening' lighting) - however, I trust they're more than adequate to share with you an enjoyable photographic visit to one of the many local treasures of the Pacific Coast Region of NMRA. The 'slideshow' option on that Community Webshots web page is the easiest way to view the photos. Thx, Kermit, for sharing the Lone Pine and Tonopah with us! Thanks folks! Paul That is a great looking locomotive! Your project came out nice! Flash Great layout shots! I like the tank farm! John Sing Awesome structures! Chad Great photos! I like the F units and the high hoods! Mike Anther cool avatar! It is already in the planning stages. I have been collecting LNE decals and dry transfers every chance I get. I also am looking for data for 1970s rolling stock. I am planning on 50’ boxcars, hoppers, covered hoppers, and perhaps some flat cars with trailers.
These (on right side rail) came in last week... so I swapped the mech from the A unit and stuck it in a B... maybe Flash will let me bring them along when I visit also re-numbered the one A (now unpowered) unit to 9918 - [ June 18, 2005, 08:16 PM: Message edited by: nscale_lover ]
