Great shots everbody! Here's a shot of an eastbound coal train starting its climb out of Flat Top yard toward Bluefield and a grain train descending the grade. Dan
I got these pics late Friday afternoon, you can see the sun glare on the B&M Buggy. B&M Buggy (Caboose C-476) looks good in its new McGinnis dress, Alco RS3 1560 looks a little worse for wear. Here you can see that deluxe gold is starting to bleed through the engine maroon, and the black has turned to gray. In just a few short years she will head to the paint shop for one of those "Blue dip" paint jobs. Buggy coupled, and brakes tested 1560 rolls out heading to Deerfield yard to pick up some boxcars for the paper mills up north. Sorry just a little "Zen Railfanning" I sure miss New England sometimes. [ June 19, 2005, 12:35 AM: Message edited by: BNSF7173 ]
I added some crates/pallets/drums to the dock I have built up, now I just neet to paint the pallets. And now onto the busy end of my modeling right now: I started puting together a MDC 3N1 Marion steam shovel these past few weeks, and then got into troube when I stared looking at the MDC plans. While the kit clearly looks like it is emulating the model 60, it is very clearly not done properly int he plans. As such, I am in trouble finding the proper photographs/plans for this model. Here's a Protoshot of a Marion Model 60, I found it on the web, quick and ugly, its in Costa Rica. Here's how far I got: I am seeing a lot of different variations between the MDC plans, and what it should be, and making the changes as nevessary. However, I don;t have the proper views of the interior of the model 60, though I was able to find some semisatisfactory pictures of the model 40. Not the same. Close, but not the same. Basically, the hard part is figureing out where the holes need to be in the floorboards to mount the flywheels/winches. I don't have any of the necessary pictues to make this possible. Anybody able to assist?
My family lived in southern New Hampshire for a spell in the early 60s. A B&M branch came through Milford and was across a field the other side of the road from where our house was. I remember those old Alcos in weathered maroon and gold going by a couple times a week. I even have a few squashed pennies from them. Thanks for the memories.
I recently purchased a conifer tree kit from JTT The deadwood you see standing beside the mainline is an example of the tree armatures
Russ Nice shots! Feels like the locomotive is coming home after a hard day. Mike Nice Looking locomotives! Dan Great shot! I can smell the brakes! BNSF7173 Great looking locomotive and caboose! SNFF 2005 6 19 - 2 Hi, all, The just-released issue of N Scale Railroading has a nice article by Marc Sisk on his "Pipestone Pass" NTrak modules. These modules were on display at the Aug 2004 NTrak Convention in Chantilly, Virginia (in the hotel lobby) - they are a beautiful piece of work. Here's three shots of these modules taken by me, hope they supplement your experience of reading the Pipestone Pass articles in NSR. (smile!) Enjoy! I live near pipestone pass. Its really nice up there. You can hike the old right of way across the tall trestles and through the tunnels. Its lots of fun. Nice Pics.! Marshall
None for me. I tried but the old 35mm failed me. First the prism locked up a couple times and then the advance ripped out the sprocket holes on the film. Guess it's time to retire the old beast. I have a small digital but didn't have it with me.
Doesn't get much more fun than this... My first father's day present was a 42 mile round trip on this... With these two...
John Sing Great layout photos! Chad Nice job on the locomotive! Doug Awesome photos! Looks like everyone was having fun!
Nothing fancy, just a pair of respectable SD70M's on the point of a WB V-train climbing Sherman Hill, on #3 track, 2 miles west of Cheyenne:
Here is another EMD on the point of an empty UFIX coal train about to hit the diamond crossing the UP Sunset Route and head on up to Wyoming.
