Wyatt: Those are great looking trees. Tom: That module always looks great. You have to love that Camelback. Stay cool and run steam......
Hi folks, Great shots as usual! Here' the latest wood car kit.. This is probably the last for a bit, as I have to get back to stuff on the layout: Speaking of the layout, here's some work on the bridge area that feeds into my engine facility. A double crossover will be on the bridge section (what is currently a piece of plywood in the shot): Have a great week!
Here are a few of a section I am trying to finish off. Please advise if brownish grass too stark or out of place in the last shot. I will trim ans straighten the grass out in any event.
You could try to tone it down by experimenting with a thin wash of gray to blend it in a little if it bothers you.
Awesome shots everyone. Powersteam is that two shays??? How do they run so far? TAD I really like how your layout is looking. Very nice trackwork with all the complexity of it. Alan , yourlayout is getting a Brittish invasion all of it's own. The hoppers look good. John Widmar, the canyon shot is fantastic. Tmo PM really like your outside braced cars. Soo, nice trees. Very tree-ish. [ August 28, 2005, 01:36 PM: Message edited by: traingeekboy ]
Another truly great instalation of some gread photos. Great work everyone. I did some improvement work on my backdrop. There's now a storm off to the west... or is that east? and looking back towards town...
This week I finished turning an RS1 into and S4. This is the Atlas RS-1 with the front hood cut-off, This is real easy conversion to give us N scalers a needed locomotive.
New material! Tunnel 27, from my favorite perch across the valley: And the Summer Ski Train drifts down Big Ten curve:
There's 7 units on the head end of that manifest; the trailing AC is a former Espee unit. Glad you liked it. You have no idea how hard it is to get to that shot nowadays!
here some pictures from the past... ...my new stuff is still "unpainted" in boxes (and at the moment I am painting 1:43 model cars for a friend...) (click on the thumbnail to get a bigger and not so fuzzy picture... )
Those arentwo Atlas Shays Geeky. I have five in toatl and they all run extremely well. They all have Lenz 521W decoders installed. They creep along beautifully at 5 mph. They are all first generation Atlas Shays. Stay cool and run steam.....
I went to the Riverhead RR festival on Long Island's north fork today. These pics don't do the festival justice, as it is represents all scales of railroading and the museum's proto collection, but my son and I were too busy enjoying things. Here is a pic of the G-scale layout: Here is a pic of their restored 1964 World's fair LIRR display train: And here is a pic of one of the proto displays: Russ
UP Mike Great shots! John W What a view on the bridge! Cool night shot! Alan Cool looking cars! Flash Great looking hoppers! Secret Weapon Cool looking residential scene! Bob Those shays look great! Overshoe Awesome looking boxcar! Mark Looks good! One thing you might want to try with the grasses is mixing colors together. Generally stands of grass are not all one color. It is the one thing that I wished I did on the Water Tower Diorama. It may take away some of the starkness you are concerned about. Also trimming the grass so it is not all one length will help. It took me awhile to get that right on the WTD. John Breen Nice shots! Dan Great shot! I really like the look of the hopper! Hemi Awesome shots! Nscalesteve Cool photos! Russ Great pictures! Looks like fun!
I posted pictures of my RTR european cars on the european section. Here is the link if anyone is interested in seeing passenger cars. http://www.trainboard.com/ultimatebb.php/ubb/get_topic/f/58/t/000412/p/1.html#000012 It's not really model railroading since I just sort of collect these.
