Nice weathering, Paul. Roof brown or some slightly lighter brown, maybe on the lower trucks, sometime. makes it look muddy. Maybe chalks, too. I haven't used grimy black yet, but I really like yours. Maybe some Espee grey tomorrow for me!
Very nice pics everyone. I have been dabbling with a Rail Yard HO Mopac Caboose kit for the past few days. Here's what I've got done so far, although I took a wrong turn on page 2 of the instructions. Jon
Whoa, someone who models the belt, i've never seen that before, and thats strange considering its a perfect operation to model.
Took this last night. NS SD50 6525 and NS SD60 6634 with an experimental yellow snowplow head westbound upgrade into Bluefield with a unit coal train. From the looks of the sky its running from a spring storm. Still need to add some more scenery in this area. Dan
Bashed a Life Like FA1 + FB1 this weekend. Now it needs putty, sanding and paint. It is 7 inches long. This is basically a practice machine to get the skills down . I’ll be adding more horns, lights, fans, grabs, etc… Sorry about the picture qualty it was taken with web cam.
I think it was Flash that posted some prototype pictures of heavily weathered PS2 covered hoppers some time back. Can't locate the topic off hand, but here are my recent attempts in N-scale at two different pics he posted: [ April 17, 2005, 07:53 PM: Message edited by: Bruce-in-MA ]
Good work, Bruce. I am always in favor of weathering. At least a little on everything. Sydney N scale last Easter. Great run with some great guys. This is a large layout.

SNFF 4 17 05 Hi, all, I had a great time at the Timonium Train show yesterday. Thx to all on this Forum that responded and encouraged me to go. As usual, I took a bunch of photos. Have poste them to Community Webshots: http://community.webshots.com/user/atsf_arizona_layout_tour4 Here's one for SNFF - a shot of Northern Virginia NTRAK member Matt Chibbaro's "Furlow Canyon" NTrak module: This is his tribute to the famous Malcolm Furlow's soaring desert model railroading. There are two loops in addition to the 3 track NTrak main line: both are figure-8's hidden by the mountains. While there, I scored a few small treasures; had nice chat with Lance Mindheim at his booth; and even saw Jim FitzGerald, who was there with his wife Lee, at the TTRaK display. OK, all, have a good week! [ April 18, 2005, 11:28 AM: Message edited by: atsf_arizona ]
Tompm: Hudson Electric boxcar? Is that a prototype? Looks like a NP herald. Nice models and weathering.
I know this thread is lingering, but I didn't get to finish my project this weekend. I will be gone next weekend, so here is my late addition. Undec Trainmasters painted bloody nose with low plow and five chime horn added. Why didn't I just buy the model? Who knows? Halloween Trainmaster. The only one so painted on Espee. Story goes that managemant was unhappy about the cost of painting the black widow scheme. An employee painted an HO model like this over lunch hour. Next week, they tried it on a Trainmaster. Was eventually painted bloody nose. I tried to highlight the fans so you could tell that they were there. BTW, Hemi was right! Those numberboards were not made for custom painting!
