Thanks. I use some custom decals but don't know what they are running these days. I have not ordered any in a while. I buy them from Rail Graphics. I supplied the artwork and they made a silk screen that is kept on file. Every time I place the minimum order I get enough decals to decorated about 25 cars. I have sold some to various folks who must trade them to folks I don't even know. I always find it gratifying to see them on cars on the layouts at train conventions. I ask where they got them and they give me a name I never heard of. Must be a hot item. I may have to place another order as I am running out.
Tony, the effort you put into the handrails on the SD45 really belies the model's small scale. Nicely done! ---jps
Do we have a thread on this? I think it is possible to "reverse" the process to some degree. I would start with a Q tip in water, then Q tip in 70 percent alcohol, then Q tip in 90 percent alcohol...etc. Something like that, including other techniques. You won't recover it, but you will be able to alter the uniform appearance of the weathering.
THanks. I have wanted to get back into N scale from O, but the only thing holding me back was I couldnt find any of the brass N scale NYC steamers. In the past month, they have come out of the woodwork, so I have been snatching them up. Got another Mohawk coming too. Now time to build the layout.
Thank-you, Dr. John. I appreciate your enthusiasm. Weathering the caboose was no big deal trepidation-wise, but the engine.....whoa. OC Engineer, you have amassed an enviable roster of steamers. Very nice.
