There is a thread going on in the N Scale forum about these unique Santa Fe locomotives. Only six of them were ever built, yet we have a model of them that was produced about 40 years ago by TRIX. I happened to have one that someone had painted in a bogus Milwaukee Road scheme, looked more like the old Cotton Belt "Bow Wave" to me. Anyway, I decided that I need to repaint it and at least replace of the clunky handrails on the ends with some wire ones.
This last week I applied the L&A decals to my Rivarossi/Athearn U25C and I became the owner of a Fleischmann DB VT98 Railbus with trailing coach. A Railbus in Louisiana? There must be a crack in the Bermuda triangle!
WOW, that's GOOD! It's obvious you have added airbrush perfection to your many other excellent talents.
2 BN U30C's are climbing the grade past the Hruman Junction Engine facility heading toward Barclay. K-27 464 about to cross main street, USA. Sandric and Lake Superior 2-8-0 #82 takes a spin on the Salida Turntable #82 is seen a short while later on the Leadville local, consisting of a scant 2 tankers today.
The 4" x 24" detachable extension for my "Shoofly" Free-moN module doubles as staging as well as a test diorama for new scenery techniques & materials. Tried out some new-found dirt and installed the bumpers at the ends to prevent the 666 scale-foot fall to the concrete floor: They're so nervous about living on the edge they're frozen in place Just got a big box of weeds & grasses from SE so hopefully this is the last time you'll see the extension this bare: Great photos and have a groovy weekend, all!
Craig, that photo's great! Those rock faces look great! Hey, I actually have something to contribute this week! My dad was at work all day, so I couldn't get away to the local hobby shop and had to make do with what I had. I decided today would be a good day to build that bridge I needed for my portable C&NW switching module. I also installed the backdrop, but after I took these pictures. The bridge goes right up to the backdrop, so it won't look like it's just hanging in mid air.
Hank, Hmm, now there's an idea! Ha, even with the backdrop up, the bridge still appears to go nowhere. I did spend a good amount of time last night weathering the road leading up to the bridge, building a retaining wall, and adding other scenic details. What do you think I should put under the bridge on the backdrop? Or maybe over the bridge on the backdrop? And here's a favorite photo for all of you guys
Alex, consider painting a billboard on the backdrop where the bridge would have ended that reads "Bridge Halted - Pork Cancelled". I like the silhouetted box car, very artistic.
Fireball: the only thing I know about it is that it is brass. I don't know anything beyond that as the engine is not mine.
