Here are some Kato E-8s that I painted for MKT. Although not quite as elegant as the E-7s with their fluted side panels, they carried on with a variation of the Texas Special paint scheme.

Your images are amazing, Russell. The second could easily fit nicely in a railfan section. Well done!

Wow, at first I thought Russ's second picture was the prototype that the first was modeling. Nice work!

I've been greening things up on my mountain:

Thanks everyone. The photos were taken outside this morning. I hauled my "Prairie on Posts" diorama out to a local park down by the Brazos to take some photos by the pond.
I see you are a reenacter in Terry's Texas Rangers. Benjamin Franklin Terry was a partner in building the first railroad in Texas, The Buffalo Bayou Brazos & Colorado RR. He also owned the Oakland Sugar Plantation that later became the Imperial Sugar Company which I model. ;)
Here is a model I dreamed up of a BBB&C train.

    Russ,

Thanks for that info. I hadn't followed his "civilian" history. I suppose I need to do that.:mcool:
    Great looking train.

    Thanks-!

I couldn't resist these three pics. They came in today and are the new IM/Centralia 6-6-4 sleepers in what else, the SP Sunset Limited scheme. Very nice with operating diaphrams and interior lights operated with a magnetic wand.

You can see the wide gap. Couplers need adjusting but will look good.

Not sure that I care for the green tint to the interior but maybe that is correct. Russ, what you think?

We had an operating session at the H0 scale San Antonio Model Railroad Association (SAMRA) today. I took the opportunity to photograph a new area named "Brazos." The in-charge of this area was Paul Dawson. He has some pretty nice scenes.

    Cattle pens.

Texas reservoir fishing. John Lowrance painted the backdrop.

    Chain gang.

Pushing our 1959 Plymouth to the gas station.

There are a lot more scenes here, but these pictures came out the best. He even has a coral snake. The boy scouts (last week) spotted that one right away!

    Module update;
the mains/sidings should be fully operational by the end of the weekend, but transfer table and maint. facility, as well as the scenery, will take a while.

I think this is the iconic image of my Pittston & DeWitt railroad, which came down in 2002. It was one of the last images I took with a film camera, as I went digital in 2003.

Here's the trackplan I drew on my old computer, using Canvas 5. I'd never tried drawing on a computer before, so it was a real learning experience. This was probably done in the early 1990s on a small-screen MAC. I don't have that patience any longer!

My present railroad is going to be disassembled over the summer and moved. I need to start taking detail images like this one, on the Pittston and DeWitt.

Very nice, Pete!!! I am really impressed with your effort on the layout design diagramme. You did that how many years ago!? Wow! I still can't do that. :tb-biggrin:

Here is my week's contribution. A Y6b hard at work.
