yes, it's an all scale model/railfan club that we formed last fall. there are currently thirty or so members. The HO modular layout is the current focus and I will post some of the other modules soon, right now they are kinda scattered. The local Mall has given us free store space to construct and display the layout and for club meetings.
Late Spring in Donner, California Here's a shot of my new SP ABA Black Widows on my Z scale Truckee River Layout. Thanks, Bill Mock
Hi, all, Still no time to model (nor spare cash to buy things like sound-equipped Athearn N scale FP45s :-( . Need to focus on staying employed. Not likely that I'll be at Portland for the N Scale Convention - so some of you who will be there need to step to taking photos and posting for all of us! For now, I'll just pull stuff out of my archives..... this is picture of ballasted N scale Kato Unitrack turnouts: Have a good week, all.
Here's something the wife found in town here.... Check out the ornament on top!!!! This thing is still in service!
Bill, these are impressive scenes, but then to read it is Z scale! How did you make that post and wire fence in the foreground? It can't be more than 1/4" high. George V.
Got some ground cover & trees done this weekend: As we walk uphill: While the woefully unweathered NW2 backs up, we can cross a lower bridge and climb a tree: Gotta love scour-pad-&-bamboo-skwr evergreens. Well, back to the polyfill plantgrowth! Great pictures, peoples! Inspiring! --Mark
Hi George, Very small workers? No. The "barbed wire" is Fly Tying thread. Rust colored "midge" thread to be specific. Fed through a fly tying bobbin holder. I too was quite worried about how I would do it. But once I set the fence posts, the wire stringing went pretty easy. Thanks for looking. Bill
